While it's a boring design, it nevertheless looks nice and shiny.

WTF! It looks so amazing with a completed curtain wall!
Such a nice tower, one of the best in NYC
I guess most people can't see the true soul behind buildings like these.

lost opportunity to build an architectural marvel like 425 park avenue projects....but not to bad pure modern minimalism.

I only see it as a filler for its height. Such minimalism counts as architectural merit, for me.
If it had more detail, it wouldn't be anything special anymore.

It's very good. But it could be better...
But I liked ... The glass is beautiful! It's good for this area... Little Brother - and less inspiring - the Hearst Tower.

I saw some negative comments about it. It is not very modern looking BUT it suits the area. It is like complaining about a historical area saying why not build a modern skyscraper there? It won't suit the urban pattern there. People from around the world know that part of the Manhattan because of it's half a century old looking buildings and that's nice

I don't think it's visible in that photo. It appears to be completely obscured by the hotel on B'Way. The building to the left appears to be south of the new hotel, while 250 W 55th is due west of it. The building that appears prominently on the left is the Park Imperial.

it's your eye tricking you, take a closer look. Interesting example of perspective.

I think that he was referring to the Park Imperial, which is clearly visible to the left. The area you circled is where 250 W 55th would be located, but practically nothing is visible.

im fairly certain that building that looks due south is in fact 250 w 55th. If you look inside the circle you can see that 1715 Broadway actually overlaps part of the view of the building and the photographer is looking northwest so it must be west not south. The angle is weird

You may be right. The Park Imperial is north of 250 and 1715 B'Way.

This photo by KZ1000, which was taked from the west, shows all three buildings.
