so many beautiful places across Canada, you guys are so lucky.
Having such a beautiful natural beauty so close to home, well, why should one leave home during Holiday at all? I wonder... I spend my Holidays in either Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid or Los Angeles and Chicago, sometimes like soon again, in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal (I am sure I am gonna fall in love with Montreal again!) |

Beautiful Vancouver bamboo and grass to I.D.
There are other clumping types besides Fargesia; and yes, phyllostachys are all runners, though to varying degrees. Easy to contain with rhizome barrier, available from most specialty bamboo retailers, of which there are several in the Lower Mainland/Valley. This is the best option for containment, and is most likely the method used in the photo.
