Medway regeneration

The Medway towns area in Kent has a variety of planned regeneration areas and being a Medway resident I like to keep an eye on what is going on.

I took the opportunity to grab the following images on my mobile phone of some new apparment blocks that have recently been built near the Chatham Dockyard. Applogies for the rather poor quality but as I said they have been taken on my mobile.

The development has moved on a bit since this. Here is a link to their web site.

Here is a link to the Medway Renaissance web site that has details of planned developments within Medway.

Nice post Kentlad. I used to live in Rochester, on love lane. I see the new high speed commuter service is now operation, that will have a dramatic effect on the area. It has so much potential.

Two new 16 storey towers and they weren't already on here. Nice one.

Cheers for the comments. There is indeed a lot of potential in the area particularly with so much vacant waterfront space, as if used properly could be the key to properly regenerating the area.

There was even a hilarious rumour about a cable car being put in to travel accross the river...

Another local development which has been completed recently is this health centre just by Gillingham town centre. Opionions have been a little divided on it's appearance.
