Great development update.

I was wondering how far they'd come at Tasta.
I need to borrow a car to check out some developments myself one of these days.

Really?

I thinks it looks like an office complex, with a warehouse attached to it. Not nice at all.

Maybe it's just my irrational love for anything clad in glass.. and it sort of reminds me of the Copenhagen opera (which is admittedly a bit more awesome).

...And the winner is:

Hospitalgata 4

http://www.aftenbladet.no/lokalt/sta...g-2871143.html

Juryens begrunnelse:

The new Archaeological Museum will look like this:

I'm quite pleased with this, as I seem to remember Strata being the best suggestion.

I hoped for Rosetta, never really saw the other ones as an option.
That being said, the winner was my third pick, so I guess I can't be too miserable.

Skanska is likely to land contract building a bus and bike bridge over E39 motorway in Forus. Currently are large delays for buses who are stuck in regular traffic. Bridge is part of the planned busway corridor to Sola it is constructed to be converted to light rail in the future. Opening is set for november 2012.

The discussion regarding light rail continues....

The editor of Stavanger Aftenblad suggests that we should change the plans from light rail, to a subway system. This would allow people to travel by rail from where they actually live.

I'm against light rail, but this subway idea is more interesting...

Rogfast planning gets funding.

http://www.aftenbladet.no/innenriks/...t-2876125.html

Anyone knows, or can estimate the timeuse between Stavanger and Haugesund if built?

The Rogfast project actually raises a few interesting questions.

What will this in time mean for the Stavanger metro area?

What will happen with Haugesund Karmøy airport?

Haugasund certainly won't be in need of an airport, but sense isn't relevant in district politics: http://www.h-avis.no/nyheter/rogfast...odig-1.2353940

Oh. Scary foreigners. I guess we must keep both airports then.

Well, if you don't want to hear other dialects or ..ohh. even worse.. other languages in an airport, I think you have a serious problem, and have sort of misunderstood some fundamentals...

Most likely the end of tolls sometime after 2030 will be a bigger adjustment than the opening of the tunnel. Tolls are likely to be around 260 kroner... (I think rougly one hour traveltime between the 2 cities after opening.)

And OT: Isn't the dialect divide in the middle of Karmøy?

Think about it though, Haugesund Airport seems to be attractive for the lowcost airlines, and by shutting it down, that will just drive prices up in Sola, is that really what you want? I'd much rather shut down the deathtrap in Stord, rather than Helganes.

You do realise Helganes just expanded it's terminal, right?
