A new hotel will be built in Verksgata 62 in Stavanger.
It will open in 2013 having 210 rooms. Scandic will run it.

A whoppin' 48% single homes in Stavanger, versus Bergen at 28%, and Oslo at 9%. This speaks volumes. I'm just glad people are starting to realize that we need to densify, and build taller structures.

Especially happy with the comment from Grethe Kvinnesland about apartment buildings. These kind of structures seems to be the best way to get a good urban development.

They kan keep the 'blocks' surrounded by green areas and supermarkets in the first floor to themselves.

Høyre, the biggest political party in Stavanger, wants to build 2-3 highrises about 20 stories high in the Jåttåvågen area.

Nye Brueland Barnehage - Sandnes

PROSJEKTBESKRIVELSE
Barnehagen er et nybygg med åtte avdelinger som ligger som et selvstendig volum i skråningen ned mot eksisterende barnehage. Arkitekten ønsket å trekke noe av naturen inn i bygget ved å la hovedkonstruksjonen bestå av «treformede» søyler i limtre over to etasjer. Ytterkledning med ulik overflatebehandling gir et spill i fasaden, som bidrar til å bryte ned skalaen.

Prosjektet har fokusert spesielt på universell utforming, og SINTEF Byggforsk har gjennomført et FOU-prosjekt i tilknytning til Brueland barnehage. Her gis generelle råd for prosjektering av barnehager med universell utforming.

From what I've seen, I think theres a grass roof/playground on top of the building.

The new office building will initially have 870 office spaces, with a possibility for an expansion of another 200 office spaces.

The office building which is approximately 17.000 square meters, spread over 5 floors with garage in the basement, is located at Forus West. Fabricom will here be located in close proximity to the new parking facility to Forus Parkering Vest and Sola Golf Club.

What's so surprising? Bergen is basically Los Angeles colder little brother, sort of.. only something like 30 000 of us enjoy an urban lifestyle.

I think we should also start demolishing detached homes to make room for apartment blocks, and start with those located in central areas and "knutepunkt".
