Does that article say how much revenue the stadium generated in all of its years in service? Does it say anything about the stadium being dilapidated and in need of major repairs? Does it state how the owner of the stadium (city of Pontiac, Michigan) was in serious financial crisis? Does it state how seriously diminished real estate values in the area are? Does it state how poorly utilized the planning for its area was? Does it state how its present use is diminished due to the abundance of other newer competing venues in the region such as Ford Field, Joe Louis Arena, The Palace of Auburn Hills & Comerica Park?

When making a point about something, please be sure to state all the details and factors so that you paint a clear picture of the TRUTH and REALITY of things. Otherwise you are being deceitful whether intentional or not.

Theres a bunch of out of place, strange houses out there in farmland. Things even resembling castles out there.

Earl Morrall (Dolphins backup QB in the eraly 70's) lived in a similar "spaceship house" in Davie years ago. I saw it once and it was so crazy ugly that you couldn't help but chuckle.

The strangest part is that Morrall was perceived as this uber-conservative guy (crewcut, very plain-spoken) but lived in a house that looked like it was designed for David Bowie back in his 'Ziggy Stardust' days.

And BTW, thanks for making new forum members and new residents to your city feel welcome, that have the audacity to admit some ignorance and lesser knowledge about what's going on than you may have, sir. Really made me feel right at home

Exactly. Broward has a much larger population of midwestern and northern transplants that have adopted the Panthers. I don't think they would really benefit from a move back downtown.

To be honest, I think the geographical arrangements of teams in South Florida is pretty good. Basketball and Baseball downtown (eventually), hockey in Broward's American Dream sprawl, and the Dolphins right on the county line.

Sodermalm, what other supposedly dead projects did Swire purchase? My understanding is that they now own a large chunk of downtown Miami, the way China now owns a sizable chunk of the U.S.

Hong Kong isn't really China. It belongs to them, but HK is very much a separate part.

Many people would say this about Miami too, but it's neither here nor there.

http://mlb.mlb.com/fla/ballpark/webcam.jsp

Just for those who want to see the the progression of the Miami Marlin baseball stadium just click on this link above.

I just picked up what I thought was a plane coming in for a landing but when I zoomed in on this webcam it didn't appear to be one ,it didn't look like a flying saucer either but just a red and white streak up in the sky.Unfortunately, the sighting is not there now.

Haha , true.
But HK was actually a separate entity. It was a british colony up until 1997, and after that it has it's own government and laws.

So a bit more separate than Miami.

Miami-Dade pupils topped the charts in a national math examination, with Hispanic pupils scoring higher than those in other major cities.

This is really great news for Miami, and quite frankly, a bit shocking. A lot of people are quick to speak ill of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, but this may in fact show that our public education system, is in fact improving. Keep it up MDCPS!

^ fantastic news! I really don't understand why so many people are so negative on Dade county schools. My siblings and I all graduated from them and my nephew was diagnosed with a certain form of Autism & the school system was excellent in helping him develop his skills as a special needs child. Let's give credit where credit is due.

Would this work in Miami?

http://www.banyantree.com/en/bangkok/index.php

A roof-top restaurant?
I'm thinking somewhere along Biscayne Bay... Is it to windy in Miami to pull that of?
(and yes, there would be a roof that could easily be pulled out. )
