No, no recent news.

But on the news front, we've heard that the project to reclaim land from the sea is back on track. It had been shelved due to the 2008 financial crisis, but it's now back on the agenda. Apparently they plan to reclaim 5 to 9 hectares of land from the sea in the area of Fontvieille, which will allow the principality to build 350,000 m² of floor space. The prince should decide on this project in 2013.

On the news front also, a 55-floor (178 meters) tower has been proposed in the Monéghetti neighborhood by "G.A.N.G." (Groupe d'Architectes Nouvelle Génération). Called Herculis II, it would replace the current Herculis building. If built, if would be the tallest tower in Monaco, taller even than the Tour Odéon.

A render of Herculis II:

Any new updates about these new projects? Which one that already are under construction? Just Odeon and Simona?

The 170 m (558 ft) Tour Odéon is rising nicely now. 19 floors have already been built.

Here are some views of the tower taken by the French forumer Pattali last Sunday.

Well according to one of our French forumers who works in a construction firm, there would be a project for a 70 floor tower in Monaco, but it hasn't been made public yet. That would be a very tall tower indeed!

The 170 m Tour Odéon, for comparison, only has 50 floors.

Monaco seems to have learned nothing from the excesses in the construction of past decades. The planned buildings can be beautiful (or not ) but Monaco can not increase its population and building density. If this continues, Monaco will cease to be a pleasant place to live.
Monaco can be a city where the rich buy their apartments for a fortune and establish their residence to avoid taxes, but those apartments are empty because it will be uncomfortable living there.

If Monaco wants to build new buildings why not they demolish the ugly towers of the 60 or 70 and build there?? The answer is simple. It is easier and more profitable to demolish some small "villas" and build on them hundreds of apartments.
Sorry for Monaco. It is sad to see how the man does not learn from their mistakes.

Tour Simona is not bad when seen from the outside. What I don't get is why they blocked the views from the balconies to the see with that stupid organic structure.

Tour Odéon has now reached the 29th floor. 21 more floors to go.
