I think being 'old fashioned' was their inspiration. The design isn't terrible... Does anyone know exactly where in Shanghai this is?

Well, this architect is fit to Puxi area. If it was built in Pudong, I would say it looks old. It looks kinda like Harry Potter's witch craft university.

The mall looks great and the design inside the mall is nice. But the towers look like the heads of Empire state building. If they change the towers this will be a great add to Shanghai.

yeah, the same thought occurred to me. like two small modern ESBs lol . but i like the design, i wouldn't mind if they get build - it's still a nice addition.

The interior seems like a mix of Caesars Palace Forum Shop (Las Vegas) and Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes.

Is just me, or from the renders they don't look like 240m.

Shanghai Summit Shopping City 238m, and look really tall compared to this ones.

Interesting design, and interesting choice of location too. Seems to have a 'nice' enough facade lining the streets which is much better than a blank wall as is the case for so many other 'malls'.

They appear smaller, because they have these huge spires. Without the crown/spire the towers would hardly reach 160m...
