I think if they can get the interior to look as classy and expensive as in the renders then these will be great! I hope they don't turn out to be cheap and tacky...
I'll be living only 2 stops away from this site when I'm in SH over summer so I'll be sure to get some pictures!

I'm pretty sure the inspiration for the interior comes from Galleries Lafayette in Paris. Chinese people love that mall, and the interior is really wonderful.

Some are disappointed by such retro design because they it may seem usual for westerners, but it is not for the Chinese people.

Really beautiful! It's actually a shame that its just a shopping mall. Especially that 'barbie' advertisement on the stand in the middle is so out of place.

More like the Trafford Centre to me.

Nice picture, good overview of this huge project. Not so many changes since this last picture, but this week they built a new crane at the metro station side of the construction area, guess they will start with the towers. Will soon take some more pictures.

In those renders the towers do look shorter than 240, but they (the renders) also don't let us see the towers in relation to other buildings, so it's hard to say. With those tall spires they will look shorter than 240.

Remember, spires count... unfortunately.

Yeah, its still hard to believe those are 240m. The render may be bad, but looking at the actual construction, they look well beyond their half-way mark and still look only 120m ish.

probably just because of theses ugly spires they can reach 200m+

Well, we can't see the whole towers, since the mall is covering the bottom part. The mall itself appears already pretty tall, so this can be misleading.
To really be able to guess the height we need pics from the other side which also show the ground (in the last pic we can only see the elevated highway).
