L’honneur est venu au Directeur général des Grands travaux, de donner l’économie du travail à réaliser sur ce lieu. Pour lui, Kinshasa est une ville moderne qui s’est engagée dans la mondialisation. Par conséquent, a-t-il souligné, chaque ville ayant sa place de référence, Kinshasa ne doit pas être en reste. La meilleure façon de vivre cette vocation d’une ville moderne a poussé l’autorité nationale à doter cette ville d’un lieu de convergence. Pour lui, ce travail n’est pas un fait du hasard, quelque chose d’improvisé. Il s’agit plutôt d’un projet mûri de longue date. Cette fois, il va être exécuté dans le cadre des cinq chantiers de la République.

Les travaux comportent plusieurs lots, quatre au total. Le premier consistera au prolongement du boulevard Triomphal jusque sur l’avenue de la Libération, ex-24 Novembre. Le boulevard triomphal accueille souvent des manifestations publiques. Le projet prévoit d’y construire une tribune moderne et permanente.

A côté de cette tribune, il sera érigé un espace culturel. Il faudra également assurer la jonction entre les boulevards Sendwe et Triomphal. Cela implique la réhabilitation de l’esplanade du Palais du Peuple. C’est ce qu’explique le Directeur de la Régie des Grands travaux. " Le programme complet à l’aménagement comprend : Le prolongement du Boulevard Triomphal jusqu’à l’avenue la Libération. La construction d’une tribune de 2500 places.

La réhabilitation de l’Esplanade Nord. La réhabilitation de la fontaine existante et la construction des nouvelles fontaines devrant la tribune. La réalisation d’un monument sous le thème du ( Mémorial du Souvenir) dédié à toutes les victimes des violences coloniales, rebellions, guerres d’agression, etc. L’aménagement d’un espace culturel au Sud de la Tribune. La réhabilitation du Palais du Peuple. L’ensemble des travaux se subdivise en quatre lots dont le premier concerne l’aménagement de l’espace compris entre la tribune et le Palais du Peuple ; le second la réhabilitation du Palais du Peuple ; le troisième, la construction de la tribune et l’aménagement de I’ espace culturel, le quatrième, la réhabilitation et le renforcement de l’Avenue SENDWE, du boulevard triomphal à prolonger jusqu’a l’Avenue de la Libération ".

Selon le Directeur de la Régie des grands travaux, les quatre premiers lots seront livrés au plus tard le 31 mai 2010. On retrouvera à cet endroit d’attraction des restaurants et autres boutiques qui attireront davantage de gens.

Il y aura également à l’endroit un monument dédié aux victimes de la colonisation, de la dictature et de la rébellion. Autant Paris a sa Tour Effel, Pékin sa place rouge, Kinshasa aura bientôt sa Place du peuple. Les travaux qui ont été lancés hier dimanche et qui entrent dans le cadre des Cinq chantiers de la République, prennent en compte ce souci de donner aux Kinois un lieu d’attraction, un lieu des loisirs par excellence, un lieu que l’on visitera obligatoirement lorsqu’on visite la capitale congolaise.

Les artistes congolais sont conviés à participer, du 8 au 31 décembre 2009, au concours d’élaboration des maquettes des monuments du Mémorial et de la Renaissance de la République démocratique du Congo dans le cadre du Cinquantenaire de l’indépendance du pays célébré le 30 juin 2010. La publication des maquettes retenues interviendra le 9 janvier prochain.

A l’occasion du lancement de ce concours d’élaboration des maquettes des monuments historiques par le ministre de la Culture et des Arts dans la salle des conférences de l’Académie des Beaux Arts de Kinshasa, le commissaire général du cinquantenaire, le général Denis Kalume, a expliqué hier mardi aux artistes que « le monument du Mémorial est celui du souvenir (traite des Congolais, esclavagisme, colonisation, guerres successives). C’est une œuvre d’art qui immortalisera l’histoire de notre pays, en montrant d’où nous venons et où nous sommes aujourd’hui ».

« Le monument de la Renaissance, une projection de l’avenir, est l’expression d’un peuple qui tient à signaler que c’est un peuple qui vit, qui est prêt à dépasser les vicissitudes afin qu’on puisse retrouver, dans cent ans, la RDC en train de jouer son rôle de locomotive du développement de l’Afrique », a-t-il ajouté.

Les monuments du Mémorial et de la Renaissance de la RDC seront posés respectivement en face du Palais du peuple (à Lingwala) et de la Gare centrale, là où se situait la statue du Roi Albert 1er, sur le boulevard du 30 Juin (à Gombe) le 16 janvier 2010 », a indiqué le coordonnateur du comité scientifique du CGC, le professeur Ndaywel è Nziem. La manifestation de mardi a été l’occasion pour les étudiants et professeurs de l’ABA de suivre une projection synoptique du programme du Commissariat général du cinquantenaire (CGC) axé sur la réflexion/bilan, la communication/vulgarisation et l’immortalisation/pérennisation.

I was thinking about Contacting them( ABA, Planning Ministry, Grand Traveaux or any officials associated with the project].

Because i want a massive monument. not small, The tallest in Africa. that how i want it.

Actually, they will design and build the monuments. Thats why the Minister said it must be "Original ".
