Just found the site above.

However it says that Avenue K consists of a seven story shopping mall and two twin 60 story towers Confused The other article says a 50-storey condo and a 30-storey serviced apartment??
According to William Talhar and Wong, it'll be 43 storeys

But conclude it from Property Times. They so far were always...right!

They are doing the interior now. I believe it should be completed by end of May. It'll be an upperclass mall like Starhill

Actually i don't think the mall is suitable to open when the construction of two office buildings still haven't complete..it is quite dangerous to the shoppers

Not true actually... Remember when the Legend Hotel-Putra Place Tower was being constructed above The Mall in the early 90s? That was more risky, as the work was taking place above Mall's glass roof... However, it was protected by a huge safety net suspended above...

If anything fell out from the construction site on the roof, goodness knows what will actually happen... Thats y if the two towers are being constructed above Avenue K, still considered ok... The building's foundations are meant for that weight anyway...

Oh ya, regarding PJ constructions, saw the papers the other day that Philips was moving its office to the new Menara Axis in PJ State... U know, that skyscraper located near the Asia Jaya station...

Not too bad for a new building, already able to secure a major tenant (they are taking up levels 8 & 9)...

Yea.....I was about to give that example too! . Another very good example would be MEnara Weld atop its already completed podium which was also done in the 90s.

K Residence is the name of one of the tower. K Avenue is the mall podium below. The entire development are initially known as Duta Plaza. I dunno what izzit called now (the entire thing).

And I dunno what does the K stands for......

If i'm not mistaken, the "K" stands for "Kuala Lumpur"... But dunno why "L" was left out... The capital city of MY is universally known as "KL" what...

Yeah, agree with u sze... The Weld is another good example... However, the thing is that Legend Hotel was constructed out of concrete whilst Weld Tower used a lot of steel (something like Suria KLCC and Maju Perdana Tower)...

Just curious, what is the difference between these two construction methods here, in relation to buildings being built atop completed podiums?

I passes by the site about 2 weeks ago and I saw some heavy machineries there and they are constructing the cement mixer/storage thingy there.......so I guess they should be doing the ground works now.....can't really see the ground cos it is blocked by the construction divider

BTW where are you now?

Dun need to be confused......the info on the Vortex lighting is very dated and I think they got it wrong in the first place. Duta Plaza - when planned initially had planned for a 30-storey hotel and a 50-storey office tower. Now the 50-storey tower would be K Residence and the podium mall - K Avenue. The 30-storey building would be designated as serviced-apartments which is currently still unamed

Dun worry....I've seen enough press released and statements announcing the project and there is no 60-storeys towers
