Al-Hadari wants Sudanese move

Ismaili goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari has his heart set on joining Sudanese side Al-Merreikh, the Egyptian club's president Nasr Aboul-Hassan said on Friday.

"Al-Hadari told me that he wants to move to Al-Merreikh," Aboul-Hassan told FilGoal.com.

"Al-Merreikh are yet to table an offer but they unofficially contacted me to enquire about Al-Hadari's availability."

The Egyptian international, who is widely considered as the best keeper in the country's history, joined Ismaili in the close season after ending a 17-month spell with Swiss side Sion.

He relatively managed to maintain his assuring displays between the sticks but expressed his concerns over Ismaili's unconvincing start to the season.

The Dervishes, last season's runners-up, are seven points behind leaders and defending champions Ahli at the halfway stage of the season.

Al-Hadari, who still has two years to run on his contract, is now looking to reach an agreement with Ismaili to terminate his deal and join Al-Merreikh as a free agent.

"All options are on the table. The club's board of directors will soon make a decision over Al-Hadari's request," Aboul-Hassan added.

The 36-year-old is awaiting the verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in his infamous transfer dispute with former club Ahli.

He was initially handed a four-month ban and a 900,000 euro fine for breaching his contract with the Red Devils in February 2008, few days after helping Egypt win a record-extending sixth Nations Cup title.

The sanction was later frozen by CAS upon his appeal.

I honestly fail to understand the reasons behind the constant failure of Al-Merriekh! They have the money, the stadium, the players, the leader and they had all sort of coaches!

Some say, it is all the controversy that surrounded Akram Al-Hadi and his shaky performances, while others argue that Al-Wali is impatient with his coaches! That 7-4 loss in Jordan will be one of my worst nights ever! It was a nightmare!

I think Stephen Worgu is one of Africa's most talented footballers. I have seen few of his performances on TV. The boy has got ability, but I just don't think he is interested at all in settling in Sudan and focusing in his career. It is clear that he can't get his act together and pull himself together! I think those at Al-Merrikh should try and convince him to focus in his football and stop hustling in Khartoum at night!

I hope Al-Hadari will bring success to the club, that is if he signs. Let's wait and see.

I mean honestly, and I am sorry to say this, but for the past seven years, Al-Hilal has deleted Al-Merriekh from the map.

Al-Hadari still determined to join Merreikh

CAIRO: Ismaili goalie Essam Al-Hadari is still determined to move to Merreikh in spite of the Dervishes' refusal to accept the Sudanese side's offer.

Merreikh offered to acquire the Egyptian international's services for $1 million, but Ismaili turned them down because the bid was not “financially rewarding”.

However, Al-Hadari reiterated that he would like to move away from the coastal outfit, saying he can't stay put any longer.

"I'm really flattered that Ismaili's board is keen to keep hold of me, but they need to understand that I have to leave," the 36-year-old told his personal site.

"Under the current circumstances, I can't carry on my career at Ismaili, and I have already informed (club president) Nasr Aboul-Hassan of my intent to depart.

"He once promised me that Ismaili would let me go if I wanted to leave, now I urge him to live up to his word."

The three-time Egyptian champions first considered selling Al-Hadari to generate some cash after suffering a financial plight.

Ismaili has reportedly put a $3-million price tag on the former Ahly custodian's head, and they will give him nod to leave should any club meet their financial demands.

On the other hand, FilGoal.com has learnt that Egyptian Football Association president Samir Zaher called on Aboul-Hassan to allow the Egypt first-choice goalkeeper to join Merreikh.

Zaher interfered as he believes Al-Hadari might be distracted by his disagreement with Ismaili ahead of this month's African Cup of Nations (CAN).

Al-Hadari, who is widely considered as the best keeper in the country's history, was landed at Ismaili in the close season after ending a 17-month spell with Swiss team Sion.

He relatively managed to maintain his assured displays between the sticks this season, but expressed his concerns over Ismaili's unconvincing start to the season.

The sanction was later frozen by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upon his appeal. A final verdict is yet to be returned.
I really wish this guy never left Ahly, the worst thing he did was move illegaly to Sion. He should have stayed in Ahly.

So Al Merrikh offer $1 Million, and Ismaily refused. What do you guys think will happen?? Will Al MErrikh pay up the $3 Million Ismaily are demanding, or will they drop the offer??

His first mistake was leaving al ahly his second mistake was joining al ismaeli, no offence to them but they ain't exactly league champions.
Al ismaeli are simply playing hard ball they wont get any better offers and they know it, they are just trying to force al meriekh to up their offer.
