The example from Moscow it's a little bit confusing to me, not sure if I like it or not, but still way better than Baku or the examples from Albania, they were looking too pseudo historic.
I agree with You. Not all of the shown here examples are definitely good. This applies not only to the former Soviet space and Eastern Europe. There are a lot of bad examples from West and other regions of the world. A General decline of classical architecture is felt everywhere. This is the peculiarity of our time, but this should not be a reason to use the names of specific countries as a common noun. Such attacks are perceived as an insult by nationality and manifestation of chauvinism and poor upbringing. I also do not like much of the samples, but this is no reason someone humiliate. I just don't put "like" and not make the political conclusions.

Azerbaijan has lots of newly built or renovated buildings all in old style. Some look good others fail miserably yet overall still look better than ugly soviet boxes they used to be. Here are some examples from Azerbaijan:

Under construction new building for the Ministry of Finance:

Under construction new corpus of Baku Oxford School in the outskirts of Baku

A classy soviet building in downtown Baku after some renovation works

New building in Baku built in exactly the same style as its neighbouring 100 years old building

A soviet box in Baku after some renovation works

Another soviet box in Baku after some renovation works

Congress center in Gabala city is a new building

A hotel in Ganja city used to be a soviet box and this is how it looks after renovation

Mashati Ganjavi cultural center in Ganca city is a new building

A question, how were historic windows made in comparison to current ones so that they had little to no reflection?

Glass Windows that back to the Romans era. Before that, windows were just holes in the walls or covered with some tissue.

The technologies of making windows has a lot changed and has been diversified.
