What's the problem with those buildings? They seem to be respecting the style and height regime of the surroundings very well. And there doesn't seem to be any "Mac" about them either, they look classy.

First of all, I completely disagree with the adjative "classy" here. Second of all, what I am mortified by is the fact that they are tearing down such beautiful old Victorian townhouses and replacing them with these.

And here's what I'm worried about

This

Being torn down for this

I would love to get my revenge on any crook of a person who demolishes such beautiful Victorians for these kitsch looking Mediterranean houses with their distorted suburban looking proportions! For Christ's sake, I don't care If they build their McMansions somewhere else, just FOR CHRIST'S SAKE not on top of the Victorian Neighborhoods of Chicago, we don't need this to become Chicago's "Penn Station". Why must this crap replace irreplaceable Victorian houses of Lincoln park and the east village!

Lastly I think It's significant that you pointed out in the INITIAL POST on this forum that you wantic no Faux Historic stuff, and here you are posting the worst of it, the Faux which replaces the real!

I wont reserve my critique cause you're violating your own rules by posting either modern buildings that use traditional materials or pure kitch that doesnt resemble classic proportions at all. By this you adulterate classic architecture by showing bad and wrong examples to people without proper knowledge who might come here to see good examples.
Sometimes i have a doubt you even have an idea what makes up a classical building. (especially with the post i answered too, which was clearely not a historic building)
For example most of the stuff from Baku is, while still adequat craftmanship and material, totaly out of proportion, filled with wrong details an so on...

The fact that i am not posting better examples doesnt liberate you from showing quality work, as long as you hold up the high level you originally inserted by yourself.
The conclusion for not finding lot of new buildings that apply classical values must not be to fill in kitch buildings with classical elements and materials. They are and stay bad examples!
And of course, not posting examples by my own can in no way be a reason to "reserve" my critiques!
You might have opened this threat but that doesnt mean all others have to concent with you or otherwise be quiet.
