Actually, I prefer the newly built grandeur way above that old shotgun-shed.

I am not really sure if these are traditional. Especially The Aspen in New York doesn't seem traditional at all.

Actually it's more like this stuff in most cases

The first Was DEMOLISHED about a year ago.

Also, I would take a look @ this

http://www.preservationchicago.org/u.../sheffield.pdf

Lastly, to get one thing straight, I am not as concerned about the sort of cheap baloon frame houses which have already become stripped of ornamentation being demolished, it's the demolition of grand brick Victorians in places like Sheffield which outrage me. I consider old Chicago Architecture to be Stunningly beautiful, and considering how much has been loft, I am MORTIFIED by the fact that what little is left is being swept away by ignorant yuppies who constantly "suburbanize" these old Historic neighborhoods in places like Sheffield, and the East Village.

They Are NOT as I mentioned Above, the first one was already demolished.

Also, from what I have read, only Landmark districts, not even districts on the national Govt are protected, which is completely messed up.

FYI:

PBS has a profile of Robert AM Stern available to view on their website:
http://video.pbs.org/video/2151075825/

It's a nice little video on one of the most noteworthy practitioners of contemporary traditional architecture.
