Zakopane, Kominiarski Wierch Guesthouse, Poland,EU

Last but not least, among Polish architects you can find the one who has undertaken a complicated task to refresh XIX-century "zakopianski style" architecture of Podhale and Zakopane, a popular winter resort in Tatra Mountains, where artists and architects around 1900 invented a folk-inspired, nationalist "architecture of the Zakopane tradition". Today architect Sebastian Piton makes his eccentric projects in Zakopane and around, searching for inspiration between his homeland region and A. Gaudis'c creations:

Revival or not, it resembles some historical style (considered as an invented tradition) of architecture in Poland.

Are they able to finish the Marriott Hotel in Kiev until the Euro 2012 kicks off? Seems quite a lot to do still.

I think it looks great (even kinda magical). And unless they are demolishing something good to build this, no harm done then, even if you do not like the style.

The Houston infill project is classic. Just beautiful; I imagine there being lots of demand for this type/style of housing!

This is the Brooks Residential College in my hometown of Waco, Texas.
It was built to resemble the universities found in England.

Cool! I regret that my university doesn't have any classic buildings ... all of them are modernist/brutalist, even when Fla. does have a classical collegiate trend.

I think that town hall looks very classy!

Wow, well made. There are very good examples of contemporary classicism in Eastern Europe. I like palladian architecture, but what I like the most its vernacular variants.

Just as the beautiful Italian building above, Catedral da Sé, in São Paulo, was finished in 1967, when utilitarian architecture had long replaced beautiful architecture.

Its among the five biggest neogothic cathedrals in the world.
