A logical response would post examples of government buildings with neotraditional Chinese elements to contrast them with the western-style ones.
...what?
Uh you originally said that Chinese buildings had limited use, and cited the Forbidden City as an example. I don't interpret everything everyone says as a blanket statement, just what you said because that's exactly what it was.

Also, I DID post examples of modern buildings with neotraditional Chinese elements, which you even acknowledge below.

This is a thread about neo-traditional modern buildings, not neo-traditional government buildings exclusively. The example you originally responded happened to be a government building, but what gave you the impression that we were talking about exclusively government buildings? So neo-traditional Chinese styles can be applied to modern buildings but not modern government buildings?

I was (and assumed you were) talking about MODERN buildings, now you suddenly claim we were arguing about government buildings specifically and my example doesn't count? Ridiculous. Also, I listed three examples in my original post, one of which WAS A GOVERNMENT BUILDING! And even IF I only listed one example then it means that there's ONLY one example? Puh-leeze. You are grasping at straws and are being quite ridiculous

...also, I thought you wanted to stop arguing... I'm going to stop here because you have shown yourself to be incapable of being logical right now.

I Hope we have the fortune to talk more constructively in the future.

Sorry for filling up this thread with such a pointless argument. I'm very argumentative and could not resist. I promise I won't respond on the same subject any longer haha.

To make up for my transgressions, here's some neotraditional architecture:

Modern cave dwellings (yaodong) in Northwest China

...Compare with the old ones:

The Changchun Engineering School is a poor copy of McKim Mead & White's Columbia University Low Library. Notice how the walls of the attic (above the main cornice) are out beyond the face of the pilasters making it appear top heavy. Here is the original McKim Mead & White building below.

I've copied the photo and added the red circle. Notice how the plane of the walls above are out beyond the pilasters below. This is a good indication that the architect was an amateur. Traditional buildings have masonry walls that are thicker at the bottom than at the top, not the reverse, or the appearance of the reverse.
