The British, American and German examples are very nice. The Asian (except the beautiful South East Asian temples) and all the Eastern European examples are of exceptionally bad taste. :/

That is gorgeous. But Qatar? Steep black roof in the middle of desert? They really look amazing but the location is soooo wrong.

This is the rendering for a new homeless shelter/healthcare facility in Williamsburg, NYC that looks like an old factory. As far as I know, this is a completely new design and not a reconstruction of an old building. Weird.

It says "Joseph and Son Restoration Inc" though. It probably is a refurbished building.

Doesn't mean Tiaren is wrong though. Are we not allowed to share our opinions?

For example.....St. Peter's Anglican Church in Tallahassee is at best mediocre. The proportions are all wrong unfortunately.

I didn't even ran their posts through Google translate, figuring they were mad about my post. Typically they didn't even have the respect, to post in English, but are rambling in Russian...
I majored in art and design and I can tell if something is of good or bad taste and this nouveau riche Russian kitsch is of very bad taste. Yes, tastes do differ, as we all know...but there are indeed rules to good design/art/architecture, since antiquity. The Eastern European and also many Chinese examples in this thread throw all of these rules away, creating Frankenstein's monsters and mere caricatures of real classic architecture. But critique, I'm afraid, is really not welcome here. :/
Yes, my previous post was compact and frank and I knew, I would probably step on Hed Kandi's (and some others) toes, but I (as other forumers) did also write longer, more elaborate posts about this matter in this very thread in the past, even with pictures and graphics, trying to explain ourselves...still some Eastern Europeans always feel offended...

Yes...and then you play dumb and as if others and I wouldn't have tried hard to explain us before. We did, but you usually ignore this. So let me quote some posts by Tolbert and myself:

You might just take a look on older posts of mine on certain buildings where i did as you directed.

But for gods sake, just some examples of how its done right:

http://24.media.tumblr.com/0915e6ef7394e95d043260e644ea607d/tumblr_n0ymsg26XF1qgpvyjo1_1280.jpg

And now compare these to some buildings on Baku for an example...

http://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/9064/225005494.19/0_ad971_1b9a4f80_XXXL.jpg

or even worse...

http://img.dayazcdn.net/clickable/10/2/zdanie_v_baku_437985_021.jpg

This one looks actally good on most of its details, but still suffers from its low ceiling hight:

http://radikale.ru/data/upload/ba193/05615/ea84717857.jpg

and for fairness a bad US example which is not bad in material or detail but in overall shape/massing and totaly neglects the style it is suposed to be. It looks like a generator hall and not like a church
Sadly the fade of a lot of US traditional stile buildings

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...90/40/q5jr.jpg

while this is done right in all aspects because its a copy but still great.

http://s020.radikal.ru/i721/1305/43/27ef4cd91c5c.jpg

i hope you can spot the differences in proportion and detail. shouldnt be to hard at all

I have something against bad architecture, as simple as that.

I actually feel really sorry for you guys, that apparently can't see the difference of high quality neo-traditional architecture, that's in compliance with classic standards (on whatever part of the globe it is build) or cheap, kitschy Disney-stuff, were some styrofoam stucco, columns or putti are thrown on a facade and it's also called neo-traditional (also on whatever part of the globe it is build).

To make my point, I will now show you good and bad examples of only China! So that no one falsely accuses me again, that I have something against China or any other part of the world building in a neo-traditional style of architecture.

This original post got 11(!) likes by the forumers, so I guess, it wasn't that wrong or wasn't that hard to understand, was it? And I also guess, we all are fed up with being attacked by Hed Kandi and co. after we gave our opinions and constructive critique in here.

Your ratable, provocative form of presentation of ideas and there is a sign of bad taste, about which you love so much to write about.

Kind regards.

The lot is empty and has been since at least 2007 (according to google street view). But it's possible a similar building was on the site a long time ago.

Dear Tiaren, you must understand that in Russia for example, anything with a prefix "European" is considered stylish, Euro-renovation, European plumbing fixtures, European quality, European uttercrap, and so forth. So these building are merely the reflection of popular demand.
