Please don't post such tacky buildings here, check page 1 of this thread and the articles on New Classical, classical architecture and vernacular architecture beforehand, if you're unsure what to post. Same applies for the buildings from Russia, I think it crossed the kitsch border, although they made an effort to make it look Russian - and well, it's sort of interesting (but perhaps more for a pastiche thread).

Thank you/gracias!
Too "good" of a "taste" can sometimes correlate with complexes which, in turn, correlate with perversions. There are five spectrums of perversion - the Japanese (men who feel threatened by women), the British (sado-masochism/pedophilia), the American (fur-fetishism/zoophilia), the Russian (closet homosexuality) and the Disgusting Spectrum. Taste can be aquired empirically by learning, too - but this is where the Russians would say "taste is not subject to arguments". Personally, I hate baroque (especially the interiors).

Well, I checked this thread and saw that some users had posted some similar buildings. That's why I posted those examples.
Anyway, I'll keep that in mind for the next time.

in my opinion yes. I tis like very "historish" postmodernism. Very bad combination of blue glass and poorly designed classic building.
There were tens if not hundreds of way better designed buildings in this thread. I would say that anything from US or UK is better, I guess it is because comparing to European and Asian arch. schools, they still teach classic architecture on some universities (like notre dame, for example).

If the Chinese want to hark back to the past why don't they stick to their own wonderful architectural heritage instead of making hash ups of Western structures. The scaled down stumpy "Golden Gate" (?) looks ridiculous, the London Tower Bridge is in fact a scaled down version of the commonly known "Chain Bridge" in Budapest (only half of it by the photo) and the Glass Bridge is a sort of modernized version of the Bridge in the grounds of Wilton House, England. It's all so kitschy and surely totally unnecessary.

Then there is the reconstruction (absolutely correct, externally, apart from one modern wing) of the Schloss which will be a stunning centrepiece. After the unbelievable devastation caused by WW2 it's a modern miracle that this city is again becoming one of the finest on earth - still a long way to go but they are getting there fast.

What do you think about this building?

I have no objections against posting bad examples here. Anyway, the thread is not called 'Good Buildings Built in Traditional Architecture Style'. I think the idea of this thread is like to make a whole picture of contemporary attempts to revive classic architecture all over the world. And if some (many) of these attempts (mostly concentrated in some particular countries and regions ) are lousy - well, that's what they are. It's reality and the thread fairly reflects it.
