people do care , iranians do infact complain alot about the facades and mishmashness of the cities
usually , larger builders projects are worse since the owners have less say over the design , and they build whatever cheap garbage they like

more "western" inspired style architecture has been in iran for over cenruries , infact, almost all of the old, pre 1950s european inspired wonderworks of persian architecture are native (like etehadiyeh house, eshrat abad, and hundreds more)
although these are predominantly iranian in design, they naturally have merged alot with european styles, as we are in fact close neighbors
almost all of tehran , tabriz, mashhad , hamedan , qazvin , ardebil, shiraz etc looked very "classical" even by european standards, the north of iran (caspian region) is traditionally very similar to the balkans eastern medd. sea in terms building styles , and of course caucasian architecture too, as it kindof is an indirect part of it
sadly everyone thinks that persian architecture is only blue tiled domes
even our own purely native style architecture in yazd and esfahan has many similar propostions and design qualities found across western architecture , i can perhaps post some examples but here is not the place

the same thing can be said for baku for example
they have so many beautiful classical buildings that are so obvious in azerbaijans current architectural culture, but the new buildings all look off

but the poor designs of today are not because of the lack of existance of western oriented styled in iran, but rather, the lack of education, regulation, and forgetfullness of anything classical, persian or european or kafkazi or ottoman or ...
in iran even buildings made in purely rural or fully medieval persian styles are absolutely terrible , far worse than the new ones built in more european styles

its because the people in charge dont care , not the people in general

Then why did you even post it? To complain how crappy your architecture is?

Blaming the "people in charge"? Liberal tripe. They are, in fact, better representatives of their people, than "the people". Plus, if "the people" dislike what is being built, they simply wouldn't buy these houses to begin with.

I don't know if its been posted here or not, but this is one of my favourite new buildings on the upper east side. Finished in 2014, designed by Studio Sofield, it replaced a terrible brutalist 1970s concrete building.

some details aren't perfectly historical, however it gets a lot correct! the stone, the paned windows, the scale, setbacks, and scale of the building is very accurate for a classic new york building.

Great project. Yes it has been posted numerous times. The 'search this thread' button can be found at the top right of this page.

Also, do you mind re sizing your images to something smaller eg. 1024x768

Thanks.

what do you mean why? its relevant to the thread, is it hard for you to understand it ?
besides, most of the examples here from iran and other places are pretty decent even if they are off , nobody said they are overtly crappy, nothing is perfect and there is always space for criticism
except for you or course , and your country, it has amazing architecture , thats why we see you actively promoting it here , he
iran has more architectural masterpieces than the hairs on your head, no need to show anything, or prove our architecture to anyone despite its fairly messy current form

lol simply wouldnt buy... this isnt your perfect lalaland utopian countrywith 40% occiapncy ,with cheap houses and unit surpluses and no growth
and also, i never said 100% of the people didnt like them
i said, many dont , seems like you dont read
and again this is iran, do you knke where that is? do you know its government ? they dont represent the population
there are almost 80 million iranians , did you know ? some will eventually fill these apartments

stick your head out of the sand mate

An iranian man brags about "not showing off". Hahaha, that is rich. I'll respond to the rest of your tirade later. One thing I would agree, though - Iran has more masterpieces than hair on your entire body (I shave my head).
