Stunning with genuine inspiration AND application from antiquity.

The Jafar Hall, built largely of brick and bands of stone and whose architecture is as elegant as it is erudite, is styled on an ancient Greek theatre at Priene...

The interiors include a polychromatic debating chamber based on the Council Chamber of the Greek city of Priene (Πριήνη).

The Chamber ruins in the Classical Greek city of Priene as they are now.

Overall an absolute gem of a building that truly captures the style and spirit of Classical Greek architecture, a style of architecture that remains elegant and inspirational and has stood the test of time like no other.

Bravo Eton, bravo England...

It should go without saying a classical design to be awarded for this most important site. Washington was conceived along classical lines so as to be timeless !

That interior brings kitsch to new heights - a monument to bad taste!

This is from the New York thread. I don't know whether it would directly constitute as classical architecture, but to me it looked pretty Gaudi-esque.

Individual pictures all posted consecutively is not allowed. We consider it spamming on SkyscraperCity. I merged all of your posts into one large post, as they all seem to be of the same place and have been posted in relation to each other.

From certain angles, it looks like it's made of bones!

Unfortunately this is a monster and is most certainly not "built in traditional architectural style" I wish the architects from Ukraine and Russia would study more carefully their heritage and build better new examples based on the strict principals of traditional architecture. If you look at most examples posted on this site from the U.S. and Germany you can see how a well designed new building should look, not some abberation or kitschy ****-up. Sorry to be so negative but just stating a fact.

Most of those posted are actually pretty good.

Most of the buildings in Chicago that have been replaced by the homes shown here were not that great to start with though I appreciate the sentiment. Contrary to what you think, these homes are expensive quality homes. I dare say Chicago is building more high quality traditional city homes than any other city in the U.S. These neighborhoods are quite beautiful and we should be happy that the people who can afford to build these homes are choosing to live in the city. A lot of U.S. cities would kill for that--mine included.
