People always criticise Skopje but some of it actually looks quite nice.

Except the fountains (if they could be classical), the museum on photo#6, the church on photo#7 and the rebuilt theater on the last photo, the rest is pure bullshit. I apologize for my rudeness.

A triumph of logic and good taste in Architecture (just look at the iconic neighbour) over cheap looking and totally inappropriate gimmickry! I still bemoan the loss of the Savoy Plaza which complimented the Plaza Hotel so well unlike it's replacement.

Yeah that's why I asked. It looks ''classical'' because it has the recognisable features of classic architecture, but at the same time something makes it look too modern for it to be considered that. Not sure what it is. Maybe the weird tower/surroundings/or the height (quite low in my opinion) of the building.

consider for a moment what other architectural influences you can see in that same image, not to mention the strong links Glasgow has had with "eastern cities" for a couple of centuries. i like what it adds.
