Peter Pennoyer is one of the best classical architects of our time. I'd love to see him given a big commission like a museum or government building.

I'd love to see him get a skyscraper. I wonder what that would even look like.

The newly completed Stathmore House in Poundbury, based on Buckingham Palace.

And the Duchess of Cornwall Inn, based on the Ritz Hotel in London.

Both together.

Thanks! I actually just noticed these were already posted back in August, but I guess it won't hurt seeing these gems again. But sorry for the repost!

Looks good aside from the prairie windows:

Those belong on a Frank Lloyd Wright-style house, not a London terrace for McVitie's sake.

Well, it all looks like some themepark fantasy made of Legos, but very Russian after all. I still wouldn't include it here, it just seems way too plastic-y.

If this example meets the requirement of traditional Russian architecture, then it fits perfectly here.

This example does not meet the requirement of traditional Russian architecture in any aspect. Its just theme park architecture. That castle in the middle is a bad copy of Neuschwanstein merged with random decoration. The smaler buildings are a combination of vagualy romanesque/gothic elements you find on Venice city palaces that are absolutely out of place in russian architecture. The only thing i would call russian, is the small pavillon at the place and the cathedral building.

This exactely looks like if sombody visited a theme park in US or China ind tried to build a city with what he'd seen there...

The Russian Cathedral is alright btw, except the glazing tiles. The rest is quite a mess.

Let's play a game of find the fake. Which of these buildings is not authentic traditional Russian architecture?

Answer: they're all authentic examples of architecture predating the 1918 revolution from the thread http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...810806&page=16
