I hope those college buildings include "safe spaces" for our sensitive American students

Only a brief declaration... I'm a pro-traditions architecture student, and the works of the past and present inspires me.

Well... I am having some problems with my teachers at my university. I am developing a traditional project for this semester but the modernist teachers are threatening to fail me due the style choice.

I attempted to back my choice with pro-tradition authors but it didn't help. It's really terrible to be under such censorship.

I failed my second year as an architecture student at Princeton. You have to design ugly crap in order to pass your studio courses. Otherwise, you would end up re-taking the course as I have had.

Wow, it is really sad. Nevertheless I think such approach is common in many fields. Seem like you have to keep mouth shut and do as you are told till you finish your studies and then enjoy freedom once you got your degree. There will always be someone with appreciation for traditional architecture. Consider your studies neccessary evil to reach your dreams. Wish you good luck.

The Meridian Idaho Temple will be completed in 2017, actually. But it's beautiful, really. The Paris France Temple is expected to be concluded in the same year:

I find it fairly strange given that the current building seems perfectly fine to me and, whilst it is not the most beautiful construction I've ever seen, it is also in a traditional style, the right materials and a good proportion for its surroundings. It seems like an unnecessary hassle to destroy this and then build the other one. Surely they could have worked around it?
I love it too! Beautiful exterior. They could better tear down an ugly, post war building in London, then replacing a 30's building. Although I prefer the new building.

Yeah I'm politically conservative and I bit my tongue through law school in Boston at the liberal orthodoxy.
