Yes, create something new but this thread is about classical and traditional architecture, not radical avant gard contemporary twists on architecture. Classical architecture in particular has certain tenets that must be adhered to; balance, proportion, harmony, scale, massing, form etc and if you deviate from these rules, it can look very odd and inauthentic. Anyway, at the end of the day it's all a matter of taste really and even Palladio deviated in a clever way from exact Vitruvian specifications and IMHO that chapel doesn't cut it, but each to their own I guess.

Palladio and Podol look alright and show some originality, the other Ukrainian examples range from mediocre to horrible.

New Hotel in Krakow from 2016. Relativly good if a bit soulless. Modernistfirm that built it. FIll in an empty plot in central Krakow.

It's pretty good imho and suits the reduced historicism in the neighbourhood!

After a heavy (often kitschy) postmodern phase until Poland joined the EU (roughly), it seemed to me the country became way too modernist quickly. Hopefully it turns in another direction and builds whatever fits into its old towns and downtowns.

No chance. It's all about modernism and its variations. Unfortunately.

Rebuilt nonhistoric building in hungarian city Tokaj to cafe and housing. In organic style. Nice but a bit naive paintings.

Nice. Wonderful jali. But, in my opinion Indian neo-traditional villa does not suit to Caribbean islands.
