I fully support context, but only something that echoes an old building, and not a fake copy of 1800 built in 2013.
LOL, I guess you did not read the title of this thread.

Yeah, those town homes look very genuine to me. No postmodernist tinkering there. Who cares if it looks like it's from 80 years ago? Architecture shouldn't be limited to one time period.

Really geil posts on the last page, I'm amazed by some of the accurate projects in NYC!

Though this glass facade project could turn out looking really strange, it's an interesting experiment I have to admit.

Here's an architecture company specialized in the traditional Romanian style: https://www.facebook.com/CaseRomanes...ref=ts&fref=ts

And a few designs:

The architecture is closely following the iconic style developed in the province of Wallachia around the 17the and 18th centuries. The houses are somewhere in between large peasant houses and smaller aristocratic residencies (according to the social statuses of those days).

This is Sakova House, part of the Ethnographic museum Etar which was built in traditional way during the 1960-ies.

Some other traditional bulgarian buildings from Etara

Modernist architecure built nowadays is as fake as the pastiche weeding cakes shown here.
And don't forget that by 1800's there was not other artistic movement other than looking back at Classical or Gothic architecure, and finding a new meaning for that vocabulary-quite different than what we see in this fake buildings. An example of my previous statemet, and a forward view that doesn't forget the past:
