Finally some bigger cities like Vancouver realize they can't only spoil their cityscapes with glass, concrete and steel towers all over. Great design by Robert Stern, one of his best perhaps! Hope it gets built like that.

This surprised me a lot. O:

I was scrolling down the page and when I saw this I immediately thought this was one of these perfect new neoclassicist country manors from the UK. They really are good at those. Then I looked closer and saw it was Frankfurt, Germany. Nice to see such a nice, neoclassical example from Germany too.
While Germany definitely has some of the highest quality examples of new traditional architecture, as we can clearly see in this thread, most projects are however a more modern take on traditional architecture and you clearly see the projects are new. British examples often look like they are actually a 150 years old and just freshly renovated.

^ Yeah, I also thought about one of those British New Classical mansions, like something you'd expect from Quinlan Terry.
It's amazing!

But who was the architect and was it really built in 1992?

Lol, I did some research and the architect was Quinlan Terry and it was finished in 1995!

More impressions:

Gosh! It's perfect.

Now here's the solution for all those nasty eyesores spoiling our cityscapes:
replace them with the works of British and American New Classical architects! It's so easy!

Btw, many of the British architects are organised in this exclusive club:

Traditional Architecture Group UK

Not completely traditional, but a fusion style including reconstruction/renovation:

Not at all, leave ideas of acceptable architecture and architectural purity to people who push only modern and contemporary architecture.
