"History repeats" is a fact that everyone should except since we have many live examples that can justify this very fact. The same truth holds good even for the field of architecture as we can see traces of the oldest architecture style in some of the newest architecture structures all over the world every now and then.

Sorry if it has been asked before, but are the regulations in the US cities about protected heritage zones and what can you build in them and what not? Otherwise I can't explain this amazing respect for old architecture.
