I was out and about at various Metrolink locations yesterday afternoon and evening and here are a selection of shots.

Apologies for the poor quality but these two were taken from Trafford Road.

I had a look at the section between Pomona and Trafford Road yesterday afternoon.

Certainly the area at the end of the existing structure is being cleared up it seems.

P1250632 by Steve Hyde, on Flickr

The single new pier is now protected with plywood sheeting.

P1250633 by Steve Hyde, on Flickr

Just visible in these next two shots are the tops of the next two piled foundations capped with reinforcement bar pyramids. Dead centre in the first shot and just alongside the MPT label in the second one.

and towards Trafford Road, new precast concrete sections laid along the alignment.

A quick update on progress with the construction of the turnback facility for the Metrolink Trafford Line at Crumpsall on the Bury Line.

The platform ramps and foot crossing at the Manchester end look almost finished now.

Is this the additional OLE foundation mentioned last week?

P1250759 by Steve Hyde, on Flickr

An extra Smartcard reader pole at the top of the inbound ramp.

P1250785 by Steve Hyde, on Flickr

There is still work to complete around the crossing such as the under-run protection boards and some lighting and signage but I suspect it won't be long before the access to the inbound platform changes to allow removal of the long steel ramp. Whether the footbridge goes at the same time remains to be seen.

Before I start with todays upload I just wish to thank everyone for viewing my photos, overnight I passed the 2 million views mark. So I gained one million photo views in just 7 months! So thank you everyone!

So with the impending transfer of Rosso to Transdev following the council approving the sale on the 20th December I took a trip upto Rochdale to photograph some of their buses.

New Year, New Crossing for Crumpsall

A new pedestrian crossing at Crumpsall Metrolink stop is making it easier for passengers to cross the tram tracks and is the first of a number of upgrades planned at the stop.

The crossing opened on 3 January 2018, providing track-level access to the platforms - like many other stops across the Metrolink network – and replaces the old footbridge and ramp as well as removing the already redundant lift.

The footbridge, pedestrian ramp and lift will all be demolished later in the month as part of further upgrade work to the stop. These works are required in preparation for the new £350million Trafford Park line, currently under construction and due to open in 2020.

Some from me today. A few notes
- A lot of trams went down to East Didsbury in a few minutes, 4 or 5, due to disruption up the line between Oldham and Rochdale
- A lot of drivers been shadowed on the Airport line, I assume new drivers been monitored

Seems to have been disruption uptowards Rochdale as some were terminating at Newbold.
