ORLY?

TBH, they are both good looking. Stadler is maybe more attractive on the front, but Končar is on the side.

Flirt 3 is also ugly compared to Flirt 2. Talent 1 and Desiro are my favourites, but such design is no longer possible due to new regulations.

New Stadler train on first run between Belgrade and Uzice was hit by rocks by some idiots and damaged (not first time that vandals throw rocks on new trains, most likely by those who see new trains as a treat for their business of bus transportation)!!!
So welcome to Serbia new Stadlers, to land of ``wonders and prosperity``!!!

That's horrible

Rock-throwing in Croatia is on a constant decline, hopefully Serbia will follow.

Statisics for Croatia (number of rock-throwing incidents):
2010. - 37
2011. - 35
2012. - 30
2013. - 18

Many years ago I traveled To Subotica from Szeged in Hungary, the line was in poor shape. Does anybody know the current state of this route now.

The new is that since three months there is no passenger service
from Subotica to Horogos and Kanjiza due the lack of diesel units.

Revamp of 500km of railways in Serbia in next three years

Quote:

Belgrade, 15 Sept 2015 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic announced today that 500 kilometres of railways in Serbia will be revamped in next three years.

Photo: Tanjug

Mihajlovic said at the opening of the Sopot Kosmajski-Kovacevac railway, on Corridor 10, that on this section, 18.4 kilometres long, the traffic speed of trains will be increased from 30 to 120 kilometres per hour.

Congratulating 15 September – the Serbian Rail Workers Day, Mihajlovic stated that Serbian railways are getting back on their feet and that after 20 years we can finally say that we will modernise 500 kilometres of railroads in Serbia in next three years.

She also pointed out that the value of the current railway projects is above €1billion, and recalled that the first railway Belgrade-Nis was opened 131 years ago and that it was linking Serbia with Thessaloniki, Pest and Constantinople.

Mihajlovic said that we should fight together for each passenger and each tonne of goods and pointed out that in the previous year and a half the Serbian government set the railway development as one of its priorities.

According to Mihajlovic, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure will assist the Serbian Railways in the implementation of all projects.

Russians to build three more rail lines on Corridor 10
22. September 2015. | 15:36 | Source: Tanjug

Quote:
Serbian Railways and Russian Railways (RZD) subsidiary RZD International inked an agreement in Belgrade on Tuesday.

It concerns reconstruction and modernization of three sections of Corridor 10 in southern Serbia, whose length totals 46 kilometers, scheduling the start of the construction works for the first quarter of 2016.

The agreement was signed by Serbian Railways Infrastructure Director Goran Maksic and RZD International CEO Sergey Pavlov.

The agreement envisages modernization of the sections: Vinarci-Djordjevo (15 km), Vranjska Banja-Ristovac (17.7 km) and Bujanovac-Bukarevac (13.7 km).

The agreement on modernization of these three sections is worth USD 26.4 million, and the works will be financed by a Russian loan intended for modernization and construction of the Serbian rail lines amounting to USD 800 million.

The signing ceremony was attended by Serbian Minister of Traffic and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and Russian Railways President Oleg Belozerov.

Previously, they opened the reconstructed leg of Corridor 10 from Ruma to Golubica, taking a train ride on this 18 kilometer-long section that now allows speeds up to 120 km per hour.

Mihajlovic announced on the occasion that this year Serbia will modernize 130 kilometers of rail lines, and a total of 500 kilometers in the next three years.

Belozerov expressed hope that after the realization of the Russian loan, successful cooperation will continue on new projects.

Russia's Metrovagonmash will deliver the first of 27 new DMU trainsets a bit ahead of schedule - they will start arriving by December this year. Specifically designed for Serbia, they have shown themselves to be the reliable workhorse that was badly needed.
