I like the tower from France, is lighted at night? You have pictures?

A lot of people believe it doesn't fit to historical city centre. There are rumours it can be moved to outskirts, but it will hardly ever happen.

As for me, after 6 years I got used to that tower and now it is okay for me
It is one of the ugliest squares of city centre, with or without tower

St.Petersburg is amazing. The architecture variables between modern and historic buildings. This makes this city so multifaceted and interessing. I love these building on the last picture. Piter needs more like this one. I would like to visit this city in the near future. I think, that there you can feel the truth russian culture and soul. So it's a must visit place for me!

Interesting to hear that. But yeah, it's very unusual/rare to have such a monument moved, so hopefully that will never happen.

I guess you'd really have to see the Peace Tower in person to fully appreciate and understand if it really fits into it's surroundings, but from the photos it does look wonderful, especially at night.

OMG, that photo >Winter Wonder< is just stunning! Parts of the photo look like a painting..

The link says Napoli Hotel. I'm assuming that building at the corner (tan colour) is the hotel? What a setting!

I guess there was an hotel in 19 century, and it is rather a historical name for this building. There in Napoli hotel in 1825 decembrist Pyotr Kakhovsky was arrested. It is also known because russian writer Nikolai Gogol lived there.
May be someone could correct me, as it is the 1st time I hear about that building and I found info on the net

By the way picture "Winter Wonder" was mirrored, and this is how it really looks:

Dwelling house = Residential (for those who don't know)

Thanks for correcting me. I am not supposed to know every single building, but it looks like offices. I transferred it to my another post "Residential" above
