They found that the land could not be developed as an SEZ because the MRTS rail line divides the land into 2 pieces, each of which is individually too small to be given SEZ status..

And there it rests afaik..

SEZ being a Bonded place (Where all the goods are bonded and tax free), no public transport is allowed through the SEZ.

Mahindra WC also had a similar problem as the main road cuts through it and goes to the villages backside. They managed by providing alternates during construction.

They can build fool proof protection barriers on both sides of the track inside the SEZ with security cameras watching 24 x 7.

DLF may have chickened out due to the likely long delay for any sanction.

But the land is very precious and something big will surely come up.

Yes that land is a hot cake look at how fast this sez space is taken up so even a IT park in that land will do good.

i have an idea. they must get their acts together and have a IT tourism developed where people must be shown most of the IT parks of Chennai for a modest fee especially if such buildings are architechurally designed. That building reminds me of Temple towers in Teynampet - only a little better in design.

Tata Reality marketing team is chasing only our own Cognizant,Infosys etc. When are they going to get some courage to approach Microsoft,Google,Oracle.Intel etc.

TN needs them to develop niche skillsets in Software development dealing with OS,Cloud Computing,Database Management,Microprocessors..etc
