Wow! It looks like a carbon copy of the first metro line in my native Copenhagen. OK, the rolling stock is the same (developed by Ansaldo for Copenhagen) and I had heard that the authorities in Brescia were inspired by what they saw in Denmark. I didn't realise that they were going to build their system almost identically to ours. Well, imitation is the highest form of praise, so... thanks, Brescia.

Even growing, that's surprisingly low for a line that covers most of the urban area. Rennes is similar sized and its single metro line (VAL rolling stock, shorter and narrower) manages 135.000 passengers/day for instance. What was expected when the line opened?
