You probably mean major international airport. Because there are several other international airports in Brazil, for instance.

Recife's (with flights to Atlanta, Miami, Paris and Lisbon) could definitely be on the list:

What about Salvador? (flights to Frankfurt, Lisbon, Madrid, Miami and Paris)

That's right. I only put the top 8 excluding Brasilia, as It's not really an international airport...

I would also include the brand new Aeropuerto Internacional de Carrasco, in Montevideo, Uruguay, which I personally think it is the most modern one in South America, at least.

The list only contains MAJOR International Airports. If Carrasco would be in the poll, many other airports should also be, so...

For me it was between Buenos Aires and Santiago. I voted for Buenos Aires.

Regards.

In my opinion, after having categorized them on the size:

Big: Santiago, Lima

Mid-Size: Rionegro (Medellin, Colombia), Recife (Brazil)

Small: Montevideo

Tiny: Atacama (Chile), San Martin de los Andes (Argentina)

But my favorite one is Tocumen in Panama (I think it should have been included because at the right of the canal it is considered as south american land)

I love that highway next to the Rio Airport. Anyway, I think the terminal is kind of ugly and old... But, I hope they have projects for the Olympics

None of the above are worthy of being international airports, they all look more like warehouses or bus terminals.

Montevideo is the best, but seems too small IMO.

Its a shame how South American airports are so outdated and boring, even the largest ones.

Only Europe and some part of Asia has cool airports. But even the United States/Canada have the same kind of classic airports as the Americas

Sorry to say, but the new Carrasco is almost 60% of Ezeiza's and 50% of Santiago's terminal area, capable to manage almost 4 million/pax per year.
None of them are thaat big not to be compared to Carrasco.
The same happens with Lima.
Maybe Guarulhos or Galheao could be considered middle-size airports in Woldwide League Airports, the rest should be considered small.
Despite that, in terms of design, technology, Carrasco is by far the best airport in South America and deserves to be considered in the list.
"Duela a quien le duela".
Saludos
