It is disputable, everyone has different preferences. There are other beautiful cities - Iasi, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu ... but for me Timisoara is the most beautiful from many points of view - historical buildings / modern, green spaces, river Bega etc.

Reading an article in the Guardian about Timisoara, I remember this pictures from archdaily

Twenty years after the Romanian government was overthrown and its dictator, Nicolae Ceauşescu executed, Anca Trandafirescu erected a “monument” to that dark chapter in the otherwise peaceful events of Central and Eastern Europe ’s 1989 revolutions.

This location was the site of the first large demonstrations in the country and that led to the subsequent fall of the Ceauşescu dictatorship. The head itself is without specific identity and is meant to signify, rather than a particular hero, a toppled everyman who has in the course of twenty years following the revolution continued to await a government free from rulers of the past regime.

I can't get enough of the building above, almost each time I went to TM couldn't miss the dome , amazing architecture, full of history and culture but it also has a great acoustic, best place to relax and enjoy the silence ... btw I used to serve there as ministrant some years ago and had the pleasure to meet Msgr. Martin Roos , the catholic Bishop of Timisoara, a very kind person who also told me some things about the church

I like that church too - generally prefer Catholic churches, are more elegant than the orthodox.
