There is a glut in the construction industry by now. Its better to leave b4 too late if the money doesn't come in or keep delaying.

It took them too long for Berjaya Times Square liao. It was also an HK company that rescued them for that somehow. I actually surprised they could actually start with Central Park!

anymore buyers where I can share the pain?
what about other development? any other same experience? from my obsevation, other development close to KLCC taking shape very quickly. may be if they move central Park to the area of KLCC ,then will take bit quicker. |

Hahaha.....I hope you are joking Construction speed and good development progress isn't location-centric. Mosts are tied to the financial side. In some cases the squabble between the owners and the main contractors delayed the project. But most stalled projects have financial contrains. Maybe it is your luck that your Malaysian investments are marred by delays but many projects in KL are delivered on scheduled or at times are ahead of schedule. Only a handful (like Berjaya Central Park, Plaza Rakayat, NAS Pavillion, The Tower, The Meritz and Park View.....are some of the high-profile ones which I could cranked up at the moment) are saddled with delays. Maybe the conforting news about Berjaya Central Park is that the foundation works are completed and should they resumed construction, they would be fast.

yup, there is no quarantee that once progress work is done, payment ll be made in time by the client or main contractor. At times, such outstanding sum can be written off in the end, resulting the contractor which initially spend on the work but receiving zero payment claim! This is the norm of everywhere in our construction scene. Such situation is so bad especially after the post 97 recession until now. So, uem and bauer early pull out is a wise move although they may not receiving full payment.., as instead of building it up 45 storey n keeps accumulating the unclaimed sum.

Hi londonbased
I'm in KL during April. I got a meeting arranged with Berjaya on some other matter. I'll knock them up for some info. If you want me to enquire on and not let the whole world know PM me. Has your money left the London agents yet? They may well be liable under uk law / trading. Andy |
