I think i agree with you. SGM inside/outside. All trains have been renovated and white/blue/yellow now.

But i understand seeing the other pictures in this thread SGM is at world level quite a nice train.

It would have to be the S type carriages in Victoria. They were withdrawn earlier in the year, and had been in service for 73 years, built in 1937.

They were noisy, uncomfortable and had compartments for up to 6 passengers (they were long distace carriages, being used on commuter services ). This made it difficult for standees, as you could only stand in the narrow corridors.

In the end, they only ran peak hour services between Geelong and Melbourne.

These are actually train services specifically designed to allow farmers to bring their produces or farm products to the wholesale market in the cities. They are sometime refer to as "vegetable basket" or "vendor" trains.

They are more of a kind of freight trains rather than passenger trains. They used to be the only means for individual farmers to bring their products to the market on their own (outside of the centrally controlled governmental procurement system). This, of course is changing fast now with more highways built everywhere and farmers increasingly having their own trucks.

You cannot find a lot of them anymore, and I will predict that all will dispear in 5 years. By the way, they are dirty cheap and the train services are operating at a lost. You can get on some of them with a couple RMBs (and with a shit load of your produces).

Nonetheless, it has my vote to be the worst train among all postings.

Execution is so last century and these continuous fatwas from NL railfans conjure up horror images of some deranged individual really going online and finding out who designed that wretched FYRA train.

Worst train in Spain the Diurno, what? the carriages, service..?
