An ambitious effort to match the Hamburg metro in annoyingness.

Quote:
A pre-recorded female voice says "Zurückbleiben bitte!" (MP3). The doors beep in addition. The same voice announces the next stations in the trains, "Nächster Halt: [station name]", a few also in English with reference to places of interest. This is the voice of Ingrid Metz, who dubbed Marilyn Monroe in the German versions of several movies. For an unknown reason, the professional recordings for stations in the city centre have been abandoned and replaced in 2006 by inarticulate children's voices.

The panda train also features announcements in the voice of a child for maximum cuteness.

In addition they misspelled 'Wuhou Dadao' in the new metro maps (which show what will be in place in 2017), as they wrote '候' instead of '侯'. This doesn't affect pinyin as both characters are romanized the same without tone markers.

It's bad enough when they get the English wrong haha. I'm sure they will fix it with the next map. I'm just back in Chengdu after going holiday, I'm off to give line 3 a go ;-D

Layout of rolling stock of line 7 and line 10 released

From Ditiezu

The rolling stock of line 7 is A-train , 6 carriages per trian . The circle logo on the train is the icon of Chengdu

The design of trains of line10 is similar with line7 . Just a little difference on color .

Oh , I found the difference on the doors only when you told me

I checked wiki .
Because line 10 is a line of 100km/h . So the Plugging doors applied on the trains , for better Air tightness .

And line 7 is 80 km/h so the they use the same door as former lines . (How is it called in English ? The door that hidden in the body of the train when it open?)

Kimchi Media Introduces Chengdu Metro!
After launching Nanjing Metro and Chongqing Metro last month, Kimchi Media welcomes Chengdu to its Metro family.

Chengdu, most famous for being home of the the biggest Giant Panda Research Center and its 2008 earthquake, is one of the fastest growing cities in China.

With a population of about 15 Million people, Chengdu Metro, and its 108.9 km (67.7 mi) of length, is the local mass transportation of choice for more than 1 Million people every day.

While the current system, with only 4 lines to date, might seem small, CHINA’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has already confirmed several phases for its development, expecting the network to reach 383km by adding several new lines and extensions by 2020.

Download Chengdu Metro on the App Store, free.

Spoiler alert: I'm the developer
Please let me know what you guys think!

Have a nice day~

Construction also started on metro line 6. It will run from Wangcongci to Guandong Lu, spanning 59.2 km with 38 stops. Originally it was planned to build it in two phases (first from Guandong Lu to Chuan Shi Yishi Xueyuan (i.e. Sichuan Film and Television College), and then onwards to Wangcongci well into Pi county), but they decided to build both at the same time. This line is expected to open in 2020 and will use 8A-car trains.

At a later date line 6 should be extended West from Guandong Lu (that explains the aparently useless, planned transfer between lines 6 and 11 there).

Unbelievable numbers for an incomplete metro in a previously-unheard of city in central China. China and some other countries are really taking care of business while the US stagnates. Even the LA referendum that just passed isn't all that impressive.

You must understand that this is a city of over 10,000,000 people (bigger than New York) that relied on polluting diesel buses solely for public transport before any metro system was started. So in essence, it is long overdue for such measures to have taken place and the passenger numbers are quite modest and realistic considering the size of the current system.
