This is the latest image to be released of the masterplan for Tirana Rocks, an urban neighbourhood at the shore of Tirana Lake, in the south of the Albanian capital

Designed by architect Aedas, the two residential towers pictured will provide 8,000m2 of floor space, with 156 units ranging from studios to penthouses. The budget is undisclosed.

This tower was designed in 2002 i believe before the master plan for the center of tirana was made. construction was halted on the facade so the tower could be made to fit into the plan. it turned out pretty good.

I suppose this is to hide the fact that Albania gets earthquakes?

The towers look fine (renders) but the juxtaposition to each other........what a mess. Awful

In fact, I'll tell you what, let me go and find my leggo and I will drop them on the floor and see where they land. Just because modern technology and building techniques allows us to put up structures that can lean in an apparently incongruous manner as if they are about to fall down doesn't mean that we actually have to build them. Not for me this anyway, some may love it...........just my opinion.

However, it seems that quite a few of the new towers that have been proposed/approved for Tirana seems to have a uniform height of 85m. I'm curious if this is do to zoning regulations, and if so, why 85m?
It has to do with the square it is pretty important so they dont want to ruin it by placing very high buildings around it there will only place 10 Towers to create a skyline there and i think it has something to do with earthquakes aswell thought not sure

Though other projects seem to be higher then the 85 Meters allowed so i doubt then it has something to do with earthquakes some other projects no idea if all will get build

As far as I know there is no information that mentions anything about the height of this particular towers.

The pictures that you have on this post have nothing to do with this project, or with Albania in general. Actually, they are not projects for any building anywhere in the world. They are just bad renderings some kid at some university has done for fun. It is kind of like posting results of your FIFA playstation game on a betting forum.

It usually involves a little bit more than dropping leggo. Personally I like the structure: the area being developed today, while run-down, it is primarily green. If you are going to have any sort of development in it, I would like one that tries to achieve something architecturally, rather than a mere expansion of the city.
