There is line 1 stock on the photo. Is it by mistake or all the lines will have the same trains?

Line 5 will use the same train as Line 1 (6B) but the photo in the news must be a Line 1 train.

It's a generic stock photo for the article.

Now Hangzhou has a split metro system. And this will be the case until next year when line 4 opens.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I love the Hangzhou Metro logo.

Yes. Line 4 will open around Chinese New Year (Feb 2015).

Big-dog, have you got any pictures of new line 2 trains? I'd like to see more pics of the interior and especially the exterior - both its front part and sides.

There's a good gallery, including some interior shots, here:

As far as the exterior of the train, isn't that really "if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it" kind of thing?

Sorry, forgot about this one.

I should carefully look at trains in line 1 and 2, seems like their from part is much alike.

My impressions of the new line.

I've ridden only from Qianjiang lu to the next station, which is Yingfeng Lu. Qianjiang century city station is not open yet. Well, the trains are very different from this on line 1, they have 6-angle shape.

There's a free shuttle his between line 2 (Qianjiang Lu station) and line 1 (Jinjiang station), the rode takes about 15 minutes.

Qianjiang Lu station is cross platform with line 4, so I had a chance to see line 4 trains during tests. By the way, line 2 and 4 will have the same rolling stock.

The Internet here is very low, so, I'll share my pics with you when I get back to russia.

Still you can see a couple of them on my Instagram, see the link below.

Please rename the thread " Hangzhou | Public transport" or do I have to start another thread dedicated to other types of public transport in this city?

Bit by bit I'm processing and uploading my pics from my recent trip to China, and now I'd like to show you Hangzhou electric buses that the city has definitely recently bought. Last summer I didn't see them at all. The number of them must be quite important as this time I've seen loads of them in the streets, let's say every 10th bus was of this type.

They are made by BYD.

Some pictures. More to come.

Taken in December.

I would agree to have this and other Chinese city threads renamed to "Public Transport" to allow discussion not only on metro/subway but also other transportation. I have requested it a while ago but it has not been done so far.

BTW, thanks for the pictures. Hopefully the introduction of electric buses is a success to reduce the already hazardous air pollutants on the street.

So when they are driving on the street, can you hear them? I know the e-bikes can be deathly quiet and if you aren't paying attention can almost run you over. I wouldn't want to cross the road and have this hit me because I couldn't hear it.

I'm hoping Chengdu will adopt such things, our PM2.5 levels have been hovering around 200 for the last week or two.
