Well, forummers who only look in the Supertall section miss a lot of interesting stuff. Height is not everything (though important).

This building has 2 cores? Its seems like it's going to have some huge elevators also. Anyone knows for sure what are the difference in construction for fire evacuation on this building compared to a residential?

I ask because I always thought the reason they don't build hospital with height is because they are deathtraps for patients in beds and limited mobility and evacuating must be almost impossible in case of a fire. Anyways interesting project.

In many hospitals, higher areas are not used as rooms for beds, but - for instance - labs, doctors' offices, administration, pharmacy... there are many activities that happens in a hospital not requiring immobilization of a patient in a bed.

I hope it dosn't look as hideous as the building behind which looks like an old commie block with a big bit of graffiti on the top.

the rounded-corner windows give a quite impressive view on the site. It is dated (you automatically read "1975-1985"), yet impressive. It fits Rotterdam well IMO.

It only looks bad because of the light coming from behind. The cladding is made of white coated aluminium.
It looks really clean and shiny in the sunlight. I'll try to find better pics of it.

Thank you for the information, I suspected the uses were going to be different. I have also seen maternity wards in the upper floors of hospitals, babies are much easier to carry in evacuation.

I like all the windows, the last thing you want to do its make the patients feel like they are in a jail cell while they are in the hospital. Let the sunshine in.
