I'll gladly have it for console games and perhaps a movie or two - but for normal TV it's not a must have for me and for the effect to be really good people will need much larger screens than today..
That sounds similar to the first generations of LCD tvs, and yet those sold. I expect these to do rather well.

So has anyone seen a laser tv in action yet?

1/3rd the power usage of an LCD, better contrast ratio (twice the color reproduction), can keep up with motion better than an LCD, and a 10" cabinet depth (sounds like a lot but remember that this is at the moment a 73" screen).

^it's cool stuff but I doubt projection TVs will ever make it big in private homes.. and with OLED right around the corner and LED TVs already on the market at affordable prices it will face hard competition..

I agree the new iPhone is stunning! I already have an iPhone but I might buy the new version if it comes out! Can't wait to see what comes out in the technology sector this year!

^it'll be an amazing year - especially for Apple fans as it looks like we'll both get the Tablet/iSlate a new iPhone model and very likely also a new Nano...

And I'm guessing that we'll also see a new Touch at some point ( or atleast a video recorder build into the old model )

I would also imaging some tweeks to the Macbook Pros and some minor updates to the iMac series..

I really hoped they would release 3D TV and you don't have to wear glasses. I spoke to somebody who is in on the inside of this and he said the 3D TV is not what we think. you will not be able to have the people in your room yet even with the glasses. Which is sad as I was hoping for the 3D TV to transform my living room into the action zone.

^problem is the technology without glasses work only from one direct angle, even tilting your head or moving slightly with ruin the effect..

And these TVs have to be made to work at various diastances in various resolutions and
under various heights all in all no small fee by itself and then if more viewers from other angles should be able to watch it too.. well..

I'm not saying it's imposible, but I doubt it's something we'll see anytime soon if ever in normal TV's..

Where glasses based 3D is teorticly already posible on all TV's with 100mhz ( PAL ) or 120Mhz ( NTSC ) that are updatable..

If a new iPhone comes out in April, when should we expect a new ipod touch? I want to buy one but if there are going to be massive changes between the 3G and the 4G versions, I'd much rather wait it out and buy the new models. If they look anything like the rendering in the last page, I would much prefer it over the 3G ipod touch design.

Problem with 3d without glasses is that I don't want anything to fuck with my eyes. Pretty paranoid about it. Any technology that directs anything to my eyes freaks me out. I know, I know, it's not harmful, but still.

In the end, technology is only as important as the impact it has on people's lives and the environment.

Workers at Chinese iPhone touchscreen supplier go on strike

Over 2,000 workers in the Chinese city of Suzhou went on strike last week after persistent rumors circled that their employers, Taiwan-based Wintek Corp, would not pay a promised productivity bonus for 2009. They certainly seem to have earned that bonus: the workers build the touchscreens used in Apple’s iPhone, only the most popular and bestselling smartphone on Earth.

According to reports, the workers are outraged, flipping vehicles and damaging facilities in protest. Needless to say, production has halted in the meantime.

It’s hard to imagine this is going to go well for the workers. If conditions at Wintek’s factories are anything like those at Foxxconn’s iPod facilities, most of Wintek’s employees earn less than fifty dollars a month, and work 15 hours a day. They’ve doubtlessly earned whatever meager bonus is being held back. It’s easy to understand their frustration. Too bad the Chinese government isn’t the sort to look favorably upon worker rebellion.

^nice!

And yeah the increased refresh rate is not in the current age worth too much extra spending ( atleast not in the Samsung LED line up ) later when 3D TV hits the market it will be of interest as it will matter but currently the eyes will not be able to pick it up anyways - what is interesting about the 8 series ( other than the design ) is the widget programs such as YouTube and Flick and news etc - but for our generation who is online on real PCs so much anyway I don't see much use it that as such..

Yea the 8 series has the wireless function, but i dont see any point in that as well. I dont think youtube clips will look too fascinating on such a huge screen ahaha XD.

Going to get a new AV receiver too, which will contain the wireless function so that Win7 recognize it as a remote device like a printer. Im not sure but does that mean i can drag n drop some movies into that device and will play automatically in the TV or the speakers. If so that would be so awesome.

Btw i dont really like the 8 series design =/ I like the dark purple/pink tint on the 6 / 5 series.
