Mendelson has built the "Kameleon" building from pictures no 31-32. Building above is "Renoma" - old Wartheim - built by Hermann Dernburg in 1928. Both buildings have been renovated in previous years.

Grzybson - good job!

hey great pictures of Wroclaw... I visited Wroclaw last year in April I believe and i was blown away with the contrast between historical buildings, grey ugly commie blocks, and the modern architecture. I also have some pictures of Aula Leopold from the University and I can post it here if you don't mind

131) Illuminated spire neer the Century Hall. It's one of the most known symbols of Wrocław besides City Hall or Panorama Racławicka. It's has 96 metres height and it was established in this place in 1948 because of the Regained Lands Exhibition. The regained lands is the area which returned to Poland after the war in the western part of the country.

132) The view at the Ostrów Tumski from Piaskowy bridge.
What a great picture of a beautiful place - I love Poland it has so much to offer visitors interested in historic places and wonderful landscapes.

155) Another renovated tenement house on Modrzejewskiej street, very close to building from the picture above (153). Inside, there are offices and the name of it is "Under the golden oak"

156) Świdnicka street near the underground passage crossing the Kazimierza Wielkiego street our local highway in the Old Town As You can see, there is a mix of architecture on this street.

157) We don't have piramids or objects which look like them ( vide this from Louvre ) but we also posess something connected with Egyptians

158) Our local basin of great architecture near Teatralny square. Opera, Monopol hotel, tenement houses, the church of Holy Doris and... postmodernistic treasure - Solpol it's shining in the distance with blue color I can confess You that in a few years it will be destroyed and there is going to be a chance to regain this place for a new, better architecture

159) Multicultural is this city. Here is the example

160) We are in the middle of Kościuszki square which has the best type of socreal architecture build after the war in Wrocław. We are still waiting for the renovation of it

161) View from the middle of Kościuszki square to the south. You can see the seed of modern architecture in the southern districts, which I suspect will be gaining power there We will see.

162) Almost city center. Zamkowa street near the Freedom square and a few steps in the southern direction from City Market. Renovation and new architecture NEEDED immediately !

163) Columns of the raisin of the prewar building on Kościuszki square.

164) The fragment of the second best socreal establishment after the war in Wrocław. The Legionów square in the southern part of the city. It was completely destroyed during the war and before it, it was one of the greatest places in Breslau. There is only one tenement house left.

165) Once again the Legionów square. One thing which bothers me is this "skyscraper". To hell with it

166) The KING ! Every citizen of Wrocław loves it ! SOLPOL ! Another thing which propably won't last too long in the local landscape

169) There is a discussion about the quaility of statues located in the city. This is the example of a very ugly statue of the polish king Bolesław Chrobry.

170) Recently renovated main museum of Wrocław ( Spaetgen Palace ) and reconstructed garden in the background.

171) The old barracks on Podwale. This street is an intersection of remaining prewar local architecture.

172) Once again Podwale and the local court which looks like castle

A small break

I like Wrocław much. The Main Square is the most beautiful in Poland IMO.

Thanks for commenting. I won't agree or disagree because almost all of our polish cities were decapitated during the II WW and in each one of them is something worth seeing. In Wrocław we have unique City Market in polish scale, Ostrów Tumski, Onehundredyears Hall and riversides of Odra. This is unique !

173) The longest commie-block in Wrocław. It's located on Drukarska street in the southern part of the city. Before the war, there was here a sea of tenement houses.

174) Once again from the different side. It has 9 entrances !

175) A villa in the southern part of the city. It's strange because there are some parts in this fragment of the city which were fully saved during the war but from the Powstańców square which I propably have shown here in the northern direction there aren't signs after all which could show us what was located there before the war. But the villa district luckily survived. Racławicka street

176) Another palace type villa, this time on Hallera street

177) Norwida street near Grunwaldzki square. This type of tenement houses are rare in Wrocław - because of the war. And that's why precious.

178) Once again Norwida.
