The US Air Force has taken control of the airport, and has prioritized US aircraft over other countries' flights. France and Brazil have filed official protests because of this. San Isidro east of Santo Domingo will also be used to take in aid flights.

Indonesian Lion Air B744, an aircraft which carry 30 metric tonnes of aid and 81 medical and SAR team members from Indonesia, has been granted a permission to land there on Feb 7! Since they were already on transit in Honolulu, it couldnt wait any longer so the aircraft diverted to San Domingo.

Because Haiti is their colony, and in their agenda there is nothing like helping Haitian citizens, just protecting from the riots their colonist friends and rich predators - like the "president" of the country, now shielded by a division of the US Army.

What century are you talking about, the nineteenth? we are in 2010, for the last 80 years Haiti has been part of the US courtyard with limited influence from France, the last one who tried to pursue indipendent policies was Aristide... the previous presidents, when unfriendly to the US, were either killed by the CIA or ousted in other ways.

What the **** are talking about? Haiti is its own independent nation completely separate from the US. It's isolation stems from economic poverty and scars from the French colonialism period.

I read the article, and nowhere in the article did it say that the US prioritized its own aircraft over other countries flights. What is your basis for your statement?

There has even been a protest by the government of France (they were on the verge of issuing an official protest but stopped short of that after some negotiations) because the US army has blocked aircrafts with medecins and such from landing (flights had to be diverted) and has been keeping landed provisions from being distributed. And the reason is, the US army is using the airport and other structures militarily, and it doesn't want humanitarian help to get in the way. US proxies in the country have to be protected, the population can get the finger...
