OT: Is the area between Bryant Park and 49th, and 5th avenue and 6th landmarked to a degree? It would be a disaster, if they raze buildings there, to make way for tower, since the area is beautiful.

Luckily it won't block the view from Rockefeller center.

I don't think there are any landmarked neighborhoods, or full blocks anywhere in Midtown since it's zoned generally for huge office buildings, but I'm 100% certain that there are individual buildings that are landmarked in that area. I'd love to answer your question more extensively but there are literally thousands of individually landmarked buildings just the lower third of Manhattan.

Back to the building! Love the updates and if the facade is a good quality, this could be a truly spectacular filler. Only in Midtown is 590 footer a filler, gotta love it!

I think this tower will be prominent, not because it's height, but because the nice cladding.

Oh and btw that seems to be a nice neighborhood,I mean because of the rowhouses.
That's a perfect description of this non-entity.

New York was noted for it's wonderful unique skyscrapers at one time, now it;s getting filled with the same old blandness found in just about any city on earth. (There are a few exceptions, fortunately)
