New IT parks in TN lack adequate infra facilities

For those who shed crocodile tears and support the views like, what can Chennai government do? we can only build IT parks and invite companies, don't blame government for companies not choosing outside chennai blah bla bla...this is what IT minister has to say

--------------------------------------------------------

Source

Tiruchi, July 31:

Most of the new IT parks in Tamil Nadu do not have adequate infrastructural facilities to attract multinational software companies and big companies such as Infosys, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services, the Information and Technology Minister, Mr R B. Udhaykumar, said here today.

The Minister, who was here to inspect the recently set up IT park at Navapattu near here said 11 companies had booked office space in the Park.

The same situation prevails in IT parks at Madurai, Salem, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore,” he said.

Information Technology Minister R.B. Udhayakumar has accused the previous Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam regime, of “hastily constructing” IT parks, which were devoid of the requisite world-class infrastructure to attract multinational companies.

“The IT parks have been constructed at eight locations in seven districts (Madurai has two IT parks). Not even one of them is fully occupied by major multinational companies. The inspection of the IT park at Ilanthaikulam here has shown that this park is just a real estate layout and was not fit for occupation by software companies,” he said.

The lack of occupancy and poor construction had raised the doubt among the people whether these parks were constructed to boost the value of the surrounding land owned by DMK men and the IT park owned by M.K. Alagiri, located nearby, he said.

He also alleged that no effort was made by the previous Government to attract major software companies.

The competition in the IT sector was global and the facilities being offered must also be world-class.

The present All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) regime led by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has instructed the IT Department and all the Collectors concerned to focus on developing the IT parks.

The Government would soon initiate measures to attract IT majors by providing all the requisite support.

In this direction, several rules regarding establishment of companies in the IT parks have already been relaxed.

“The present Government will make all efforts to ensure Tamil Nadu remained in the forefront of IT development and would soon announce new schemes towards this direction. A meeting of software companies was held recently in which they have expressed willingness to develop their facilities if provided adequate support,” Mr. Udhayakumar said.

ELCOT would also take efforts to ensure its parks get occupied. As several companies have not occupied the area allotted to them by ELCOT, notices would be issued soon to the effect that the allotment would be revoked if industrial activity did not commence soon.

Further, to enable school and college students get jobs in the IT sector, the Government would announce a scheme to impart IT training for them.

He also inspected the IT Park at Vadapalanji in Madurai district.

Our Staff Reporter from Tirunelveli adds:

The Minister was here on Sunday evening to inspect the Information Technology Special Economic Zone at Gangaikondan on the city outskirts.

“Though this IT Park was inaugurated even before last Assembly elections, vital infrastructure works are yet to be completed as you yourself can see this in the main building of the IT Park itself,” the Minister noted.

ELCOT sources said Syntel (100 acres), Deccan Services (2 acres) and A and T Cosmic Power (25 acres) had taken the land on lease at Gangaikondan IT Park and were yet to commence the establishment of their units here.

The Minister was accompanied in his inspection by Santhosh Babu, IT Secretary, Atul Anand, Managing Director, Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), and the Collectors of respective districts, and other government officials.

If ELCOT issues a notice, then definitely we can see some progress on the land allocated to WIPRO/TCS/HCL.

Neenga eppo TN politicians Vaarthaigala fulla namba arambichenga?

In what way CBE Tidel Park is worse than Chennai Tidel Park (I fully agree that even Chennai TIDEL Park is not well designed).

Why CTS has to come to CBE Tidel Park by paying a higher rent when they get a cheap space in the college land in CBE itself ? Why WIPRO/ TCS have to come to TIDEL Park when they have their own land?

In Madurai, MKA group kidnapped a few interested companies Reps who came to look for TIDEL PARK space to their Daya IT Park. How will it then get filled up?

Vishayam Puriyama Tension Padatheenga.

Our clients are sitting on huge land banks in CBE, Trichy & MDU with PP for IT Parks.

TCS, CTS, Infosys, WIPRO, Mahindra, HCL ellorum vara mattengaranga. Romba costlyaga Iruukunnu Feel pannaranga.

Please come and start IT companies in all these places. We will build world class IT facilities for you.

I don't believe only rentals per sqft are sitting on the minds of people in corporate board-rooms , 25 rs/sqft is not a headache for these companies. You start a company in deep Mizoram or Assam the rental per sqft will be the same 25 per sqft as in CBE

They would we looking for more in terms of what possible locations like CBE can offer ? They would be looking to fulfill at least 50 % of their manpower resources from local talent pool which they can easily get in CBE, much to the envy of many other tier 2 cities in India

So the rest of the 50% , should be from outside CBE. CBE should be put in the national map. It has to have quality schools , colleges , recreational faclilities, climate , weekend getaways and a cosmopolitan outlook. I believe CBE is naturally gifted in all these except infrastructure, so building brand CBE with infrastructure is the best way forward.I am sure it is happening slowly, every year the list of IT companies in CBE is expanding

Its official news again!!! Aditi Enters Coimbatore.

ADITI is Growing!!!
We are going to Coimbatore! Would you want to join us? Heads to software engineers – We need ‘em all!
Aditi represents the top Microsoft software development capability in the world. Leveraging a close partnership with Microsoft across product groups and sales offices, Aditi has emerged as a partner of choice for Microsoft clients seeking to engineer products or applications on emerging Microsoft platforms. Driven by a philosophy of hiring only ‘top percentile technology talent’ and fostering an open culture of innovation and fun, Aditi is one of India’s best places to work. It leverages Microsoft as a customer, as a partner and as a platform. Founded in 1994, Aditi is headquartered in Bangalore and has offices in Seattle, New York, Boston, London, Mountain View and Jakarta.

And we are looking to Coimbatore to expand our business. We have multiple openings on multiple platforms. We’ll give you the Top 4 reasons to join us and you let us know if you are willing to work with us.

1) We have an insanely high hiring bar. About 1 in every 78, to be exact. That means you will be working with the top 1.3 percentile talent. Fun, right?
2) We are like a crazy startup – 1200 people strong. We work in small high energy teams and meetings are generally around coffee table with lots of name calling.
3) We build great software on cutting edge tech. Period. No ‘watering the mainframes’ here. Building the world’s second largest ad platform, largest social network, mapping the pacific reef, connecting global telescopes are some of the projects we love doing.
4) In 2008-09, we were voted among top 5 great places to work. We try even harder now. Like free lunch, flexi time, unhealthy tolerance for torn jeans, beer parties, 7 types of coffee and a wide latitude for attitude.

Its a good news, but its not related to IT. It is about the manufacturing unit of Bosch.

I saw Bosch Board in Indialand building.
Also there is a huge building construction going on near the dedicated bosch campus, which seems to be an expansion of BOSCH

I think BOSCH will shift to their own building within the KG SEZ after the facility is ready. They may then vacate the current KGISL Park facility.

Perot Sytem also is having a big facility there.

Very Old news friend.... As I suggested you earlier please visit Saravanampatti area atleast once for the latest development...

Bosch's own building is already in operation @ SEZ... Now they are going to (expand) occupy IndiaLand-KGISL IT Park which is opposite to their own building in SEZ...

Obv they will vacate their office in KGISL campus which is STPI unit.

Perot own building construction is still going on in SEZ, they will also move from KGISL campus.

Bosch Own building in operation

The first building is IndiaLand IT Park
