The Paramount Theatre in Abilene, TX. Opened in 1930 and restored in 1986. Built in a Spanish/Moorish style that these pictures don't do justice...

Located at 6 North Laurel Street, to the west of downtown Richmond, Virginia, the Mosque was built in 1926 by the Shriners as their Acca Temple Shrine and contained the most elaborate and the largest theater ever built in Richmond with approximately 4,600 seats and the largest proscenium arch stage on the East Coast. It was designed in 1925 by Marcellus Wright, Sr. in association with Charles M. Robinson and Charles Custer Robinson. Though it opened in October of 1927 it was officially dedicated on January 9, 1928 and completed at a cost of $1.65 million.

But what do you mean by historical? Well, the question is, how much time is required to be in this thread? I'll contribute with some pictures of some mexican cites: Note: The photos are not mine, credits to their owners. Mexico City's Theater. "El Teatro de la Ciudad" image hosted on flickr  Degollado Theater in Guadalajara. "Teatro Degollado" image hosted on flickr  Juarez Theater in Guanajuato. "Teatro Juárez" image hosted on flickr  Republic Theater in Queretaro. "Teatro de la República". This is the most stark of the ones I've showed; nevertheless, is easily the most significant historically speaking: in this place Mexico's current constitution and Mexican Revolution greatest accomplishment was signed.

Shea's Theatre Buffalo NY

Modeled in a combination of Spanish and French Baroque and Rococo styles, the theatre was designed to resemble opera houses and palaces of Europe of the 16th and 17th centuries. It opened as "Shea's Buffalo" in 1926. Awesome theaters. never see before like this theaters, i think this is the world best theaters as per my knowledge. great palace theme looks. i be crazy to visit that. really amazing architecture and interiors. this is the Proper Theater.

sorry for some blurry or unfocussed pics, life on tour is usually quite stressful china, shanghai grand theatre (i know, someone else already posted it, but i have an interior picture of it)  australia, sydney, sydney theatre      australia, melbourne, comedy     and while still being in use, unfortunately its condition is not really mint anymore ;-)  australia, brisbane qpac (queensland performing arts centre) concert hall   new zealand, napier municipal theatre    new zealand, palmerston north, regent on broadway   new zealand, tauranga baycourt theatre   colombia, bogotà teatro libre chapinera (calle 66)   ecuador, quito teatro nacional sucre    brazil, sao paulo teatro municipal      india, bangalore, chowdiah hall   india, new delhi kamani auditorium  ireland, cork opera house   germany, recklinghausen festspielhaus    austria, bregenz festspielhaus (and its open air stage in the lake of constance, known from james bond XXII)        switzerland, mézières téâtre du jorat (yes, it's a barn... ;-) )    switzerland, geneva batiment des forces motrices   switzerland, zurich opera house      switzerland, berne municipal theatre    switzerland, basel municipal theatre    switzerland wintethur municipal theatre   switzerland, sankt gallen municipal theatre (i know, 1969 isn't thaaat old ;-) )   **if someone wants more pictures of Swiss theatres just tell me and i will put them up**
