Awesome theaters. never see before like this theaters, i think this is the world best theaters as per my knowledge. great palace theme looks. i be crazy to visit that. really amazing architecture and interiors. this is the Proper Theater.

When I was a kid growing up in Australia we went to see films in these "movie palaces". Going the Regent in Melbourne or the State in Sydney among many others was as important as what was showing on the screen.
Todays younger generation have no idea what it was like as they are only offered tacky boxes in which to see films - ok the sound is better now and sometimes the image (not always) but the experience of seeing a feature film in a "palace" cannot be equalled.

It boggles the mind how truly beautiful some of the older theatres were... they certainly don't put that much care or thought into the new "movieplexes", that's for sure. It breaks your heart to see a beautiful old theatre decaying away to nothing.... like that rotting one in Buffalo.

Theatro Nossa Senhora da Paz - Belém - Amazon - Brazil

In Theatro da Paz, Carlos Gomes ran his most famous opera, O Guarani, and Russian ballerina Ana Pavlova also touched its stage with her ballet shoes. Decoration was planned by Italian Domenico de Angelis who also decorated Teatro Amazonas in Manaus. He also painted the theater's panel in its spectacle room's roof, which depicted Greek gods, as well as the Jover roof, which was lost due to an infiltration and later restored in 1960 by another Italian artist, Armando Baloni.

it is greater theater of the Amazon.

Great thread! Theatres do make up some of the nicest architecture in the world and many of the ones here are absolute gems.
Its also nice to see my city getting some representation.

amazing thread. I have so many fond memories of watching triple bills in these old movie houses with a box of popcorn, hot dog and an orange crush...so sad multiplexes came and chopped them up, now some may survive as threates. great thread!
