It still has to be decided. There's a big fight going on between the Haryana government (HUDA) and the Central government (NHAI) and other little agencies over this.

The planning in any case is piss poor. They should have made the SPR to join the NPR and go over NH8 with a cloverleaf interchange for seamless connectivity.

Yeah, that continuity could have made the connectivity easier between old and new Gurgaon apart from upcoming sectors in that area.

Delhi-Jaipur e-way may take off near Mahipalpur

Dipak Kumar Dash, TNN | Nov 12, 2011, 03.27AM IST

Delhi-Jaipur e-way may take off near Mahipalpur - The Times of India

NEW DELHI: The proposed Delhi-Jaipur Expressway is likely to branch out from the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. Sources in the highways ministry said that they are zeroing in on the stretch between Mahipalpur and Gurgaon toll plaza from where the elevated portion of the expressway would begin in Delhi.
Officials said Haryana and Delhi governments and the ministry are close to achieving a consensus over the alignment. The proposed six-lane expressway would pass close to the airport and connect important locations such as Manesar, Rewari and Kothputli. "Ideally, construction of the elevated corridor in Delhi should not be a big problem since the requirement will be minimal. The city government will get back to us after doing a ground survey in a fortnight's time," said a senior ministry official.Delhi transport minister Arvinder Singh Lovely and Haryana PWD minister Randeep Singh Surjewala conveyed their governments' in-principle approval for the 233km project. Lovely later said that they have asked the deputy commissioner concerned to carry out a ground survey to find out whether any buildings or habitations are located on this stretch.

On their part, Haryana government has submitted that three of its major development plans will fall on the proposed stretch and hence there is a need to prepare the expressway plan in a manner that these projects are not affected. "We will provide all support to the Centre for this expressway passing through Haryana since it will push development in the state," Surjewala told TOI. Ministry sources said that beyond Delhi and Haryana, there will be no problem to get land in Rajasthan for the expressway.

To make the project financially viable, the government is considering giving land as a sweetener to the private developer, who will raise finance for this high capital-intensive expressway. At present, the project cost is estimated at Rs 10,000 crore.Officials said they are also looking into the proposal of either the developer buying land close to the expressway or the government acquiring land and giving it to the developer for some years on lease. They said they are looking into the option of auctioning the access roads to the expressway from real estate and commercial projects, which would come up along the expressway.

It's expected that the expressway project could push large residential and commercial developments along the corridor inHaryana and Rajasthan

pink city expway

I did Delhi-Jaipur a couple of times in June 2011 and was highly impressed by the speed of 6 laning work. In a period of about one and half years ( when I had last used this road), it was heartening to see the progress made on 6 laning and building a fairly large number of flyovers. Besides, the diversion work had also been carried out very sytematically, otherwise Delhi-Jaipur travel could be utterly nighmarish. The work contrast sharply to that being done by idiots doing KMP. Hats off to this company.

BTW, why call it an expressway when it isn't.

if it is going to be delayed by an year already (and trust me new deadline will be pushed again), how can the work be fast ?

Looks like work on the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway is gathering steam:

Flyover on e-way to ease traffic flow

Quote:
NOIDA: Efforts are on by Noida Authority to ease traffic congestion on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway with the construction of a new flyover. Recently, the Authority invited consultants to finalize the design and construction details of the flyover that will be constructed at a cost of Rs 80 crore. The six-lane road, complete with cloverleaf loops, will provide easy access to commuters along both sides of the Expressway.

The flyover is located where the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway touches the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway near sectors 142, 143B and 167,168. Once ready, traffic along sectors 168A, 167A, 141, 143, 140, 139A, 139B and 88, falling on either side of the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, will run smoothly. It would also provide speedy access to Greater Noida and along the FNG Expressway towards Faridabad and Ghaziabad.

"A tender inviting consultants to design and detail the project has been floated and will soon be finalized," said Sant Ram, chief project engineer. "This will be the sixth flyover to help connectivity and decongest the fast growing populated areas," he added. The flyover will be constructed on a single pier system with the help of girder technology with pre-fabricated segments. Each carriageway of the flyover will be of three 3.5m wide lanes.

Vehicular movement along this route is expected to increase several-fold since not only residential projects but also institutional and commercial projects are being developed along the Expressway. Traffic from Noida Extension area is also expected to hit this stretch once the housing projects get underway. Authority officials say preliminary preparations and details of the project are being worked out and once the design and detailed project report are in place the construction work will start. "The groundwork will take about six months to be completed. After finalization, construction will start and the project will be completed in one year," said Sant Ram.

Meanwhile, the Authority has also given the nod to begin construction of underpasses at sector 71 and near the City Centre Metro Station near sector 25A. "A route diversion plan has been prepared and construction will begin by the month end," said an Authority official. The cost of the sector 71 underpass is pegged at Rs 42 crore, whereas the one near City Centre Metro station is projected to cost Rs 34 crore. Moreover, the construction of the traffic junction at sector 37 is almost completed. As per officials, by January 2012 the flyover will be ready and by March 2012 the underpass will be thrown open to public to ease the flow of traffic.
google maps shows that site prep has already been conducted for the approach (view on google maps):

Thanks for the route IU. This expressway in a way marks the border between Noida and Greater Noida.

You have any idea where this road will meet at NH-2 in Faridabad.

It is not going to meet NH-2. It will be atmost connected to Bypass road in FBD (through some other road)

This article says it'll meet NH2 near Palwal but that's obviously not true.

Same article has a couple of villages mentioned, so this seems to be the route:

It could also go south of Kheri village, then south of sectors 81,82, 83 and join the BPTP bridge (north of Indian Oil Corp) which seems to be a better option.

NHAI, transport officials to discuss SPR expressway

Quote:
The secretary-level talks between Haryana government and officials of the Union ministry of road transport and highways and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will soon take place in Delhi.

The meeting will centre around the issue of changing the alignment of the Southern Peripheral Roads (SPR) Expressway connecting NH-8 before Kherki Daula toll plaza. The proposed alignment of SPR (starting from MG Road) connects NH-8 about 1 km before the Kherki Daula toll plaza. SPR has acquired the status of national highway and has been allotted number 236.
Though the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) (Dwarka-NH-8) also connects NH-8 a little before Kherki Daula, it is yet to attain the status of a national highway. However, in future, it is likely to get the same.
NHAI officials feel that if residents wish to move in localities along the SPR, they need to pay toll for the 1 km distance that they travel. Similarly, residents of Ambience Island, near Delhi border toll plaza, pay toll at a distance of 500 metre while crossing the plaza on way to Delhi.
The ministry of road transport and highways wants both the roads — NPR and SPR — to converge at NH-8 (towards Manesar), 1 km after the toll plaza, citing better management of traffic.
However, the government wants to go ahead with the original plan of connecting the highway with the two roads before the toll plaza.
Ministry officials have accused the Haryana government of favouring the Gurgaon Expressway developer, whose revenue will increase manifold as the entire Jaipur-bound traffic using SPR and NPR will converge at the toll plaza.
SPR connects MG Road to Gurgaon Expressway (NH-8), while NPR connects Dwarka in Delhi with the Expressway through New Palam Vihar and newly marked sectors in Gurgaon master plan 2021.
During a meeting between ministry officials and the state government in March, both sides had heated arguments on the issue, a source said.
If wish they'd just move the Toll Plaza back to Bilaspur where it was originally, would save everyone loads of trouble.

IU , i guess this under pass plan was rejected by HUDA as they said they wont be able to acquire land for cloverleaves. they want a flyover

Also there is this triangle kind of situation where NHAi , haryana govt and HUDA have not been able to decide who's gonna pay how much for 7 fricking years

Locals up in arms over new NPR link

anyone hear anything about the NPR litigation, I heard the dispute has been resolved and that the plot owners have received equal sized alternate plots.

this is another article from today, though not on the litigation...

http://www.hindustantimes.com/India-...e1-785079.aspx

Quote:
Residents of Sector 110-A in the city are on the edge these days with the recent announcement of a change in alignment of a link road connecting the Old Delhi Road in Palam Vihar and the proposed Northern Peripheral Road (NPR).

The new alignment of the link road cuts across a densely populated residential part of the sector and is bound to displace several families if executed by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). The new route, approximately one-kilometre long, will divide Sector 110-A and 111 and begin from the railway crossing near Palam Vihar to the T-point at NPR. The changed alignment, as per Master Plan 2025, has become a major cause of worry for residents as the link road has been shifted nearly 50 metres ahead of its original position as given in the 2021 Master Plan.
“The sudden shifting will affect several families and has been done under the influence of big builders of the area,” said a resident.
Local resident welfare associations have sought the intervention of Huda administrator Praveen Kumar in the matter and have asked him to visit the area and check the feasibility of the new plan.
In the last three months, residents have submitted two memorandums to Huda but to no avail. “I have been wrongly advised by my subordinates and I am going to take strong action against those responsible for this wrong planning,” said Kumar, adding that he has issued instructions to the town planner to look into the matter and report to him.

and some news..

Four flyovers to come up on Dwarka E-way

Quote:
<snip>
Earlier, there was no plan for constructing flyovers on the stretch. The project report had provisioned for just one railway over bridge (ROB) on the 18-km-long and 150-metre-wide e-way, also called the future lifeline of Gurgaon.

Construction on the 14-km stretch of this project is already underway as Huda had awarded a tender for R43 crore to India Bulls in March this year. The remaining 4 km stretch is under litigation. Haryana finance commissioner and principal secretary (town and planning department) SS Dhillon has directed Huda administrator Parveen Kumar to issue tenders for the flyovers on NPR.

HUDA was asked to get flyovers constructed on the intersections of the Pataudi Road near Sector 88, Farrukhnanagr Road near sectors 100 and 101, Daultabad road near sectors 104 and 105 and another road crossing NPR near sectors 110A and 111. Work on the stretch is likely to be completed in 18 months of its commissioning — July 2012. However, construction of four new flyovers on the stretch will extend the deadline.

HUDA officials said the sites of all four proposed flyovers were not under litigation and therefore, would not be affected or delayed. Dhillon also asked Huda authorities to move the Punjab and Haryana High Court and file a special petition to get early hearing on cases related to the pending 4-km stretch, so that work could be initiated.

I guess the litigation is still on...
