I don't know, must buildings etc being built is about regeneration etc, but I guess that report could be put into here like you have done to give it some face, also similar reports could go in here aswell. I'm not sure though.

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=987027 Sadly, a poor choice of thread title by me, means that 'Northern Way' was not included in the title. I could now get that changed? As for a 'regeneration' thread, I personally think that (a bit like as Chris says) most activities involving regeneration tend to be covered on here under one of various already existing headings and threads. EG - Regeneration of the Ouseburn, is included in and is covered by, the 'Ouseburn Projects' thread. I think that illustrates (just as an example) that most regeneration items WILL be covered on here somehow! Not to say we shouldn't have a general 'regeneration thread' though, even if it contains some duplicates of what is in an individual Project Thread (or whatever). It would mean (providing it is 'comprehensive') that there will be one place we can all go to and know we will find out the facts/info on the latest 'general regeneration' issues . . . |

Hmmm, might be worth changing the title I guess? I wouldn't beat yourself up about your title choice though!
As for the general regeneration thread, maybe we'll need one in future but on reflection this one article doesn't seem to create the need for one yet..? |

Just an idea, but I wanted to see what people think rather than jump in with both feet: what about a 'Notes and Queries' thread for those questions that crop up and keep you awake at night, on all kinds of NE topics? What sparked this was my wondering (and failing to find out by googling) the name of the Newcastle pub where John Lee, 'The Man They Could Not Hang', used to work. I know people ask questions in specific threads but this could be a sort of central clearing house for facts and advice.

I've just came across a website that offers 360degree virtual tours of a lot of North East places. These include The Sage, Arena, Theatres, heritage, castles, museums, hotels & restaurants.
NH: perhaps you can add this to the websites section? http://360-reality.com/ I highly recommend it for people to have a look at!

A couple of decent facebook pages to put in the links?
'Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the past' http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...8464630&ref=mf 'Photos of Newcastle upon Tyne - Unknown!' one of my ex-colleagues with loads of photos in an archive. He needs help identifying them - hours of fun! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gi...d=246126528517 |

Ok, not long ago a created a thread that allows us easy access and discussions between our city of Newcastle and our sister city Newcastle in Austrailia, I was wondering if anyone thinks that we should create a thread for all or our sister cities to give us easy access and to be able to discuss whats going on here and in our other sister cities aswell?
Hopefully it would allow us to communicate more with cities like Newcastle, Australia, Newcastle, South Africa, Atlanta, and Little Rock in the USA. Little Rock is very proud of it's connection with Newcastle, they often send over a group of children to learn about our city while we mainly sned of MP's from the area, it would be great to know more about these places. Lets not forget Bergen who also treat us very well, sending over xmas tree's every year and probs doing much more behind the scenes, no doubt we only send them over a bottle of Brown Ale, a Greggs Stottie, a tub of Peaspudding, a savoloy, and a NUFC Annual. I think we could also try doing SSC twins in which we have a SSC sister city that we communicate to, ofcourse we would need to choose cities that are similar to ouw own. For example in Canada I was thinking about Hamilton which has a history of being very indsutrial, ship building, has a similar population size to us etc, or Saskatoon which has a Science park (which we aim to have) but their industry more relies on farming, Uranium, Gold mining, Diamond Mining etc but the name toon on the end of it is splet like the way we say toon and is also pronounced that way. Has anyone got any other or better ideas? or do you not think something like would work? |

FAO NH: Maybe worth adding the Evolution Festival website to the websites thread if it's not already there? http://www.evolutionfestival.co.uk/
